Happy Birthday To Me.
Well...I'm sitting here awake since 5 am having gotten very little sleep because I have a sick doggie on my hands. She's 15...and until a month ago she was in fantastic health. Now, everything seems to be going at once for her. I need to schedule a date but I can't seem to do it and DH doesn't want to. Of course, he's not the one who sits up with her at all hours, petting her, and listening to her raspy breathing.
Anyway. It's my birthday today. DH and I went out with some friends last night, and on the way home, around 11:30, DH informs me SS will probably be at our house when we get back because he's staying the weekend through next week. His college town evacuated inland for the hurricane.
Am I wrong to be upset? In a way, I feel I am. But, in another way...SS has a mom in town. A mom who always had full custody. And we literally JUST finished a week with SD on Friday morning. All I wanted for my birthday was to sit in my underwear and have coffee undisturbed in the morning. That's it.
Not sure why this is irking me so bad. DH should be allowed to have his kids over, of course. But constantly? Without even asking?

First....Happy Birthday! Yes,
First....Happy Birthday! Yes, you have every right to have the birthday you want. I would be pixxed as well. These DHs (mine included I can see him doing the same) are morons.
He should have checked with you first. But that would ruin his fantasy of being Superman, or Superdad or whatever the hell he think he is, lol.
It's the "without informing"
It's the "without informing" part that would bother me, especially since SS is an adult with his own place now. I understand he had to evacuate, but that wasn't a last-minute thing. Your DH should have said, "hey, if SS has to evacuate, I want him to stay here." That would suffice with me, as I'm sure it would you.
Happy birthday! Try to make it a good day. If you can't sit at home drinking in your underwear, find a spa that you can sit at in it. Take a nap. You do you for the day, and let your DH know later why you're bothered.
Oh yeah. And I started my
Oh yeah.
And I started my period yesterday.
I really am going to quit with the pity party in just a moment. I'm a GA adult and really don't care about birthdays that much...it's just I had several big projects due this week, so it was an insane week in general. Then, we had YSD all week...or, 4 days. Tuesday-Friday. I've calculated and we have her 31 more days before the end of the year...so basically 1/3 of the time. DH started this thing this year where we get a weekday visit and a weekend per month. It's all scattered and awful...I plan to tell him in December that I insist on going back to EOWE. YSD gets out at noon, and we both work from home several days...so it's just a big, lazy teen wallowing about while I'm trying to work. I feel so enraged about that right now, and I'm not even entirely sure why.
Now, just found out this morning that SS will be staying through Saturday. So 12 straight days of skids for me...and SS here during the work week. Fantastic.
Damn, I'm so sorry. I would
Damn, I'm so sorry. I would be upset too...it's not just you.
I hope your doggie is ok.
