Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

Did you get the undercurrent
Did you get the undercurrent where the dad (disney) has apparently already let his new girlfriend basically take on a "mother" role for his kids when they haven't even gotten married yet???
I watched one episode - think
I watched one episode - think it my have been the first one - and couldn't get into it. Too cheesy.
I wish Netflix would come up with a realistic step series. They could get so many different interesting and funny situations from this site!
I definitely agree... a more
I definitely agree... a more realistic view on this topic would be welcome. There are certainly situations that are humorous right? It seems that we only see two types of step families.
1. Brady Bunch
2. Evil Stepmother
It's just not that simple and boring!
I think the whole "imaginary mary" part of this is wholly unnecessary! It is too cheesy and takes away from what might have been a good show.
I tried to watch Imaginary
I tried to watch Imaginary Mary, but it completely turned me off. I didn't see the BM kowtowing, but I did see the lead character being forced to apologize to kids when they wrecked her house and belongings during their first visit. And the Disney dad laying the guilt on thick about EVERYTHING kid-related.
No thank you, if I want to see that level of poopstorm, I'll just leave DH to his own devices... LOL
