Background story is, SD12 has had some sort of rash on her chest for a few months and it hasn't went away. BM insists that it's somehow our fault.
SD12 has extremely sensitive skin, and BM uses the most highly perfumed detergents and fabric softener when she actually does laundry, because I guess the clothes can sit in the washer for a few days without smelling moldy if you do that. Plus, SD doesn't shower often enough, and she insists on using having grammy or BM buy her "pretty" smelling deodorant and body wash, because she doesn't "like" the unscented or plain Dove that I buy, that DOES NOT irritate anyone's skin issues. So, honestly, it's most likely an allergic reaction or poor hygiene.
SD12 was taken to the Dr. by BM for her checkup and for shots, and to have the rash looked at, and was given a prescription for a cream, and that was the end of that until last weekend.
This past Friday, BM was laying into SO because SD12 has a poster project to do, and she didn't want to work on it here because SO "won't buy" SD12 the "fun, cool things she wants for it and he won't pay $5 a sheet for 3D stickers." It's a 7th grade poster project to help the teacher know more about your learning style. Yes, that does not mean that it should be boring and have no embellishments, but yes, we do set limits about what we buy. Apparently that means we don't care about her and her feelings and it's all about what SD wants no matter the price tag. So BM took her and got her like 4-5 sheets of stickers, 3 of which had nothing to do with the project, as they were glittery fish and colored jewels, then we had to go take her and buy another 2 sheets, so at the end of the day this project cost like $30 in stickers, and most likely won't even have the required content to actually make the poster useful for the teacher.
That story doesn't make sense until this part. At dinner Sunday, the rash came up again, and SO said, "Well, didn't you get that cream for it when your mom took you to the Dr?" And SD says, "No, it was $60 and mom didn't want to buy it, so I told her that I would be ok and not to worry about it."
WTF!? She already doesn't pay anything for the insurance or medical, the least she could do was give us the option to buy the cream or let us take it to a pharmacy by our house. This is just wrong on so many levels. I honestly can't believe that she chastised us about something as ridiculous as stickers when she refuses to even address the probable issues causing SD's problem let alone pay for her medication or let a responsible adult purchase it.
