Drop this slice of pizza at my mom's
I got a good laugh out of this one. My SD14 is a GREAT kid. She's 14 going on 30, always talking about college plans, her resume, internships, etc. She is very appreciative of everything I do; she always thanks me when I drive her somewhere, cook for her, pay for anything etc. Just background.
Thursday nights we take the girls (SD14 and SD11) out to dinner. Normally we go later in the evening, but SD14 is taking an acting class that starts at 7 so we've been having to go earlier. SO works downtown and with rush hour traffic it can take him an hour to get to them. I work from home, so I usually go pick them up and take them to a restaurant where he meets us. After dinner, we split up and I take SD14 to acting class and he takes SD11 home to BM. BM later picks up SD14 from her class.
I drop off SD14 and she hands me her to-go box of pizza and says "Thanks for the ride, here, you can drop this off at my mom's house" (20 minutes the opposite direction)
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA NO.
Me: "Um, I'm not driving all the way to your mom's house to drop off 2 slices of pizza. Bring the box to your acting class and leave it with your coat, you can bring it home after"
SD14: "Well everyone will be jealous I have pizza!"
Me: "So?"
SD14: "But it will smell like pizza near my coat!"
ME".....? Yea I'm not doing that, it's out of the way, just bring it with you"
SD14 "OK fiiinnneeee see you tomorrow"
She was probably just having a brain fart but I got a laugh out of that. Sorry crazy girl, I'm not driving your precious pizza 20 minutes out of my way so you don't have to carry it!
I can laugh about it because she's normally not like that. Just thought I would share for a Friday laugh!

PS She wasn't upset, she was texting me later in the night making plans for Saturday for me to watch a movie with her and a girlfriend. She has never had a friend sleep over at our house before. She has her ballet Nutcracker show on Saturday night and her friend is coming with us to watch, and I said "Why don't you have your friend sleepover?" so she was all excited. We are going to watch Divergent (I've never seen it, she's seen it 20 times) and have popcorn. Yum!

We are all envious of the kind of sd you have. So lovely to hear about it. There is hope in the world. : D
I can't take much credit, BM
I can't take much credit, BM and SO are very insistent upon manners and teaching the skids to be grateful. Our BM1 isn't a wacko like almost everyone on here thankfully. She's a bit of a helicopter mom, but all in all she is reasonable, kinds, and respectful. She encourages my relationship with her kid and easily and openly communicates with me. I think a lot of my relationship with my future-stepdaughters is down to BM making the relationship easy and stress free.
BM2 is a whole other story....
I wish I had an SD like
I wish I had an SD like yours!
My H and I made homemade pizza last time Sd18 was at our house. Mental picture of SD... she is a 300# immature brat who sits around on the couch hollering for someone to do stuff for her.
The night of the pizza she asked if there was any left over and Dh said no. She said all huffy, "well I wanted to take mommy some."
Great Scott... :O
She still says Mommy at 18?

^ So creepy! I actually broker up with a boyfriend right after college, partially because he still called his parents Mommy and Daddy. He was 24. His 29 year old sister was always talking about "Mommmmyyyyyy" So creepy.
He didn't even know how to separate his whites and colors for laundry, since Mommy did everything for him.
That being said his mother was amazing and I was more sad to not have a relationship with her anymore than him!
