Hey y'all!!! I've been gone a while and it's mainly due to the fact that I have no stepdevil issues at the present time (KNOCKING ON WOOD NOW). Of course, my job keeps me pretty damn busy and then there were the holidays and our quick little trip to California as well.

Soooooo, in order to make my post here relevant, stepdevil15 claimed to DH's dad that she's making "A's & B's" in school. DH checked online. She has an "A" in STUDY HALL (OMG they GRADE study hall?????) and a "B" in Choir class, the rest are all D's and F's. So, he emailed her mother (BFC) and asked why her grades are so poor and why she's missed so much school (35 tardies and 5 unexcused absences!). BFC's reply: "Well, this has been a tough transition for her, it's her first year of high school and she's not used to so much homework. The reason for her lateness/absences was because she has had a few colds and we almost lost my grandmother so I pulled her out of school for a while".

Mother of the year material here huh? All she knows how to do is make excuses for this girl's bad behavior. When stepdevil15 got caught having sex at BFC's home when she was 13 yrs old, BFC grounded her for a whopping week and then reduced it to a few days because "stepdevil really needs her friends right now at this difficult time"...

So, DH emailed her back asking what her plan of action was to raise her grades? No response. Doesn't surprise me. She was a high school dropout and likely so will stepdevil if she continues to fail (she's already been held back once so she'll be almost 19 IF she graduates). BFC works at a $12.00/hr department store job and the only way she can make it is to have her family members live with her and help with rent. When DH is done paying child support, if she doesn't have a man to sponge off of, she'll likely fall flat on her face financially!

My DD15 turns 16 in less than 2 weeks and I've already sent her gifts plus have a beautiful bouquet of flowers to be delivered on her birthday. I know DH is going to be sad when stepdevil's 16th rolls around in the Fall, because he purchased a beautiful gold locket necklace on the day she was born with the intention of presenting it to her at her sweet 16 party. Sad, I know. But until she gets out from under dear mommy's bad influence, she won't change or come around. All she does is believe whatever her mother says about us and hates us for it.

Anyhow, it's ffffffing snowing and soooooo super cold here that I'm bitchy. I desperately want to move to California after our trip there (I've always wanted to live there and even more so now) and DH is all for it, but since we're both still having to pay CS, we have a few more years to wait. The cost of living in Cali is so damn high compared to here.
