Story keeps changing....
First, SD was allowed to carry the baby, and dropped her.
Then, SD got the baby from her cradle and dropped her.
THEN, SD got the baby from her cradle and threw her.
Case worker had the first story.
She approved our house and said even if nothing comes of this (VERY unlikely according to her) to fight the guardianship in January when it is reviewed. She says changing custody would be difficult before that because of the guardianship UNLESS CPS finds that GBM (who was in the home and should have been supervising SD) and BM (who should have been supervising her baby) both negligent. She says that is a very likely outcome.
She says from what she's heard so far, she has a case for at least negligence. She says she is currently investigating if it could have been abuse or not.
The bleeding stopped and BM says she should be released tomorrow. Again, she also thought this would just be an in and out visit and the baby ended up getting airlifted to the children's hospital... I'm not holding out hope. They want to pick up SD tomorrow at 5:30.
I don't want to let her go...
I have a feeling I'll be joining the custodial club very soon.

I am sorry to hear about
I am sorry to hear about this.
My exs now 2 year old daughter....has permanently lost her 2 front teeth due to a bad fall...seemed suspicious to me...I too felt guilty because that little girl will most likely be living in a poor quality home.
Be glad there are people like you and I am glad the Baby is okay...I hope she stays that way!
Until you hear from CPS that
Until you hear from CPS that it is 'ok' to do so, don't hand over SD to the other household. They've temporarily placed the child with your DH while they look into what happened. This isn't like SD is over on a regular visit. CPS placed SD with Dh and approved the home for her. If BM/GMA show up to pick SD up you should be sure CPS has said this is ok (and don't just take BM's word on it).
Dh should phone his lawyer in the morning to see where DH can go with this from here. Just because GMA has guardianship does not necessarily mean the courts would continue to support this guardianship considering the GMA's house is under investigation for child endangerment/abuse/neglect. For example if this incident of being investigated would send BM back over the crazy cliff it leaves GMA looking after not only SD but also the injured baby. Dh at the very least may be able to get the guardianship of SD on a temporary basis from the GMA and/or temporary custody from BM on a emergency basis. I'd hate to think this little girl would go back to GMA's for the next couple months if there is any legal chance of stopping it.
How is the little girl doing this weekend in your home? Does she seem to even realize what is going on and what happened to the baby? She's got to be so confused and maybe even scared of all the sudden changes in her little life...I'm glad Dh and you are there for her.
