We headed to Lake Havasu for our anniversary on Saturday after our IP appointment and weigh in.  We both cut most of our Hawaii vacation food fest. 

A couple of hours drive, a nice weekend, a kiss on London Bridge on our 29th anniversary, nice meals.  We will make this a do over for a  short weekend trip going forward. Probably not in the summer though.  116*F is a bit toasty.  Not even hot based on the temps we lived in Qatar and Saudi.  But no doubt toasty.

Fortunatly that was only on Saturday.  Sun and Mon were a dozen degrees cooler.  

We made a nice drive back home on Monday early afternoon.  Along the river to Needles then from Needles to Laughlin.   We did a desert trail cut off over Christmas Tree Pass Rd between Laughlin and Searchlight.  A nice 12mile not too rough adventure.  The Sotol was blooming and there were thousands of golden flower stems all over the sides of the mountains.  The pass tops at ~3900ft of elevation.  Not too bad if you find yourself in the Laughlin NV area or want a day trip from Las Vegas.

As we headed across the desert track the temp dropped into the mid to low 80s. That was a treat.  

We saw the edge of the smoke of the huge fire in the Mohave reserve.  That fire crossed from CA into NV.  Hopefully the rains we drove through will help.

So, we are in the early days of year 30.  If the next few decades follows the tragectory fo the past 3 decades, I look forward to it.
