Mother's Day

I am trying to help my kids come up with a good mother's day gift for their stepmom. They are being very generic this year... so no help! LOL

I was thinking about doing one of those wine glass tumblers that you can get personalized... The stainless steel ones. They just moved to southern California so I would think it would be nice to have for the summer and beaches and pool. What do you guys think? 

She likes the whole "bonus mom" thing- so whatever... LOL I was thinking:

"Badass Bonus Mom"

"Out of the ALL the Evil Step Mother's we are glad we have you <3"

"Never dreamed I would be an Awesome Stepmom, but here I am killing it!"

I don't have much input but really think it's awesome you're helping kids get SM a gift. So often SM are overlooked for not being a "real" mon. 

I think wine tumbler is a great idea with some personalization.

You're awesome. I'm already dreading  Mother's Day. DH will be working, the girls will be gone (only because it's her regular weekend I'm sure. otherwise she'll probably be lazy as heck, because effort). Talk about completley unappreciated while everyone posts pictures and posts EVERYWHERE about how great their day was *eye roll.* Of course most of my annoyance comes form the fact she can't even spend a couple of hours with them, and she's a useless POS.

I think it's awesome you're recognizing the woman who helps out with your kids. Barf on the bonus mom thing though... Like what?... I love my skids. Like hardcore. But bonus mom and bonus kids seems a bit... like dressing up a bear and calling it a dog...

I like the last personalization. that's a super cute idea Smile

I am not a fan of Bonus mom- she is young though. She likes it. She is good to my kids... so whatever floats her boat! LOL

I really love the personalized tumber idea.

My SD16 and my BSs14 (twins) live wtih us full-time. I usually give my skid and kids ideas for what I want, but if they came up with the tumbler idea, I would be thrilled to recieve it. As for the saying I like what ESMOD said: Wicked (awesome) Stepmom!

For the record: this year I told my family I don't want any gifts (bought anyways), I want a day at the beach on Saturday and then the actual day I want the kids to wash my car and clean it out, my DH to cook me whatever dinner I want (something with shrimp), and to be allowed to lay around all day. They all agreed. Biggrin

That is all I want to- A lazy day!

However... Mother's day has always been ALL about my mom... so I get to suck it up butter cup and cater to her. I love my mom, she is the best and totally deserves it. I would have been lost (especially after my divorce) without her. She and my dad do sooo much for my kids are are huge parts of their lives. 

I just wish... just for once... mother's day could be my way. Once that happens though, I am sure that I will wish that I had my mom again.

I guess I should have added that my mom lives 1500 miles away. I do not have to cater to anyone else, but I would if we lived in the same state.

I have a stainless steel wineglass my sister gave me and I love  it so much!  It even has a sippy cup type lid, so no spills when I’m lounging in my hammock! 

I vote for the Wicked (Awesome) Stepmom text!

Just wanted to give you kudos for being an awesome coparent, momma, and person in general!  I vote for Wicked (Awesome) SM.  I personally love those stainless steel cups with the stainless steel straws.

I can't wait to show the kids! I will have them pick out a cool looking cup and choose the colors for the text.

That's great!  She and you are lucky!

I'm not acknowledged at all but for DH. 

It doesn't bother me normally but when people say things to YSD like 'Oh...you get to spend all weekend on Mother's Day Weekend with your MOM, you get to treat her like gold and spoil her so much!' by YSDs best friend's mother, right in front of me as I'm picking her up, telling her to get a move on because I still have to make dinner and talking about pick up plans for the next day.  Yeah, thanks.  (BTW:  DH is picking her up tomorrow not me)

Tacky---its just tacky.

A gift certificate for Pedi, or massage would be enjoyable. It gives her time to sit and be pampered a little.

I guess it all depends on the person.  I would love to have a personalized mug (which I wouldn't find to be tacky) and would have no interest in a pedi or a massage.  I know others like me, and I know plenty who would prefer the pedi or massage.  It sounds like the OP knows her kids' stepmom and what she might like, though.
