Day Five
LoL you guys!
At DH's sister's place, it is gorgeous!
I'm having a good time, not great, but better here. SD15 is being goid, on good behavior so far, but the veneer is cracking.
She pretty much is acting like a normal teen, but since she's in high school she is grown up now (her words). Her diet has not changed (all carbs and two eggs in five days...NO teeth brushed). DH had to take the lead in food finding which p*ssed him off after he had to deal with them. DH sister and I decided on dinner in tonight since there's so many food issues.
I'm generally just walking behind them because OSD just takes off and I will not direct her. I stick to my plan of not paying for anything but for one tour *I* wanted to do. And bought DH and I a few things.
DHs sis is all over OSD, can see her cracking and shut her down a couple times. I did too after she made a snarky comment about a couple of my friends...nope, you don't go there. DH cannot tell her no, just cannot do it. OSD told DH sis that the only thing left for her was to see DH sis and that's all she cared about, she hasn't been away from BM for more than 1.5 days for a year and misses her, and still doesn't want to interact with DH. So I expect OSD to go back to no contact when we return.
OSD does not know DH and I are having a nice night away by ourselves and DHsis was like, "She's going to crack!"
Food and wine....wine!

I glad you enjoying your holiday, I wish the weather was nicer.
It's a sham that your DH isn't embassed enough by his daughter behaviour to correct her. Even in front of his sister.

15 years old and hasn't been away for her mother for more than 1.5 days for a year, and misses her.
Now that is the definition of enmeshment. When I was 15, I spent the entire summer at camps (voluntarily) and as much time away from my parents as a I could, like normal teens do.
I was 11 years old
When I spent four weeks in Europe with my paternal grandmother who didn't particularly care for me. After the first few days I wondered what I did to deserve it.
These kids today are completely enmeshed with mommykins and daddykins. Pretty abnormal and pathetic the Girhippo never cut the umbilical cord from her BM and likewise the skids are totally up her bum.

I agree
My 13 year old SS also has to talk to BM daily because he’s enmeshed. BM also has to check in daily. Last weekend, she had to have SS call her one hour before she was going to see him at his flag football game. It had barely been 38 hours since she’d last seen him.
This week, SSs are both with their grandparents for spring break. BM is probably off somewhere with her husband. I wonder if she still feels the need to check in daily or if it’s only when SSs are with DH. In my case, BM needs SSs to regularly remind her that she is the favorite parent, so maybe she doesn’t care about checking in when DH isn’t involved.

DH BIL is already tired of the food issues after two meals. LOL. He is done with it and is giving the SDs baby size portions just like his 4 YO. LMAO
SDs are not giving any opinions on what they want to do after being given multiple choices so we're just taking over. Eff it...good on DH for that!
