BM still continues to prove she is just money grubbing witch

SS26 had a baby last week (kudo's to her) the baby is adorable. So Sunday we go up to see sd26 again (she had c section and was in the hospital for a couple of days) BM is there with her husband. My Dh's parents and sister and her husband were coming as well.

The first thing out of BM's mouth is to confirm that DH's parents are coming so that they can give SD some $ towards hospital bill. SD has health insurance (and a husband). When I respond that I do not think so, BM goes on and on about how wrong that is and she cannot believe it. DH's parents are in their last 80's and do not have any money.

WTF! Since when are grandparents expected to pay for this? And if SD could not afford to have a baby - THEN WAIT!

BM ruined the moment and I thankful I will only have to see her at the christening and then not again for a very long time. I told DH he should kiss my ass everyday that I am 1000 times better than that that money grubbing bitch.

Ummmm, what?? When I had my kids, NO ONE paid the bills except...me and my husband!

I DO.NOT.GET all these adult kids expecting mom and dad to pay for everything...

They never offered her $ and SD26 never mentioned to DH there was $ problem with the hospital. BM just assumes DH's parents are RICH and they are not. They do not even own their home - they rent a two bedroom apartment.

BM just always thought they had a bunch of $ hidden that should be forked over to their grandkids and her.

Not the case. It was just inapproiate and BM made everyone in the room feel really uncomfortable.

Sometimes I think BM's definition of "rich" is "not loud and trashy"

My grandparents never funded my children's births. Actually, not all people giving birth still have their grandparents - what an absurd request.

I sure as heck don't plan to fund my great grand children's births...

The right answer was to ask her to take it up directly with them - put her on the spot and see how she dealt with that.

um, BM, I was not aware, you can ask them about it though. Leave the ball in her court - wow, just wow.

Well she just made herself look like a tit. Appreciate that moments like these make you want to strangle the stupid woman however she is her own worst enemy when she comes out with insane things like that. Inside I would be secretly smugly smiling about her own stupidity given how everyone reacted to her comment, they all knew how ridiculously awful it was. I would then enjoy adding fuel to the fire and pointing out the fact that DH's parent are in their 80's. Highlight what a gold digging idiot she really is.
