For months now, BM1 has been texting and calling SO informing him that he HAS to take SD15 to get her learner’s permit. SO has told both BM1 & SD15 that when SD15 visits, he would be more than happy to take her up to DPS…she has not visited so she has no learner’s permit.

SO went ahead & looked into what he needed in order to get the permit for SD15 (took 3 minutes by phone)…he needs
Birth Certificate (this is all he has-BM has NEVER had a copy)
HS enrollment or last report card
Proof that the first 6 hrs of driver’s ed has been completed

He asked BM1 to supply the report card and proof of driver’s ed to him by today so that she could come with us to the DPS (I had to go to replace a lost license). Conversation is as follows-
SO-She needs to bring her last report card & proof from 6 hrs drivers ed
BM1-NO SHE DOES NOT, XXX town doesn’t do drivers ed
SO-ummm…she needs it to get a permit
BM1-Look into drivers ed and give me the info
SO-Shouldn’t that have been something you would have taken care of prior to nagging me about taking her to dps?

So, he and I took our trip to DPS today and I saw a young lady reviewing the driver’s handbook…I asked SO, does SD even have the handbook??? He texted and got a big fat NO from BM1.

Here’s my question…if you have a teenager who is ready to get a license, wouldn’t it behoove you to educate yourself on what they need to ensure they get one? I’m so confused as to why she would nag over this issue when SD isn’t even ready to get her permit. Apparently, she’s never even glanced at a handbook!

Funnily enough, I (being the Google lover that I am) Googled…and well, there is a driver’s ed course going on RIGHT now here where we live…it costs far more than SO is willing to pay (over CS). The other option is to do a parent taught course. The humorous part about that is that SO can chose to do this option & SD would HAVE to stay with us for a month (18-30 days) while he “teaches her” driver’s ed. We are laughing about the idea but neither one of us wants her pouty manipulative ass here unless she wants to be, she is a true talent at making those around her MISERABLE!

SO has said he’s NOT paying for driver’s ed and that he is going to deal with this when he gets back…which is great as we have loads of other crud going on with the resident Skids dealing with our looming trip to FL and their 4.5 day visit with their BM.
