O/T: A good book?
I am on the search for a new book to read! Any suggestions? What are your favorites?
A little about my book-reading tastes (although it seems to change with the season):
Eat, Pray, Love - inspirational/spiritual and way better than the movie
The History of Love - deep-thinking and great love story
Harry Potter - so easy but so magical!
The Kitchen Boy - historical fiction and a real page-turner
I used to read James Patterson - easy reads and page turners, but would almost read them too fast!
I can get into some trashy/gossipy novels here and there but really would love some suggestions from all of you! NOTHING related to step-parenting or parenting, please

I liked the Girl With Dragon
I liked the Girl With Dragon Tattoo also, but it was kind of a slow starter for me. After the second half the pace and suspense really picks up.
There are two more in that series that I haven't read yet but am looking forward to when I get the chance.
The Hunger Games. I couldn't
The Hunger Games. I couldn't put it down. Book one of a series of 3. Best book I've read all year.
Three Cups of Tea by Greg
Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson - my SD is having me read this. She read it for her upcoming senior year and loved it. It's an excellent story!
The best book I've read this
The best book I've read this summer is The Help. I can't remember who it's by, but its fiction told from the perspective of a handful of maids in the south on the brink of the civil rights movement. It was funny and sad and wonderful all at the same time. I couldn't put it down.
I didn't want it to end
I didn't want it to end either. Absolutely friggin' loved it. I read it so fast and then forced my SIL to read it because we always share good books with each other and she read it in a weekend.
I might even read it again — soon and I've never done that. It's always been years later if I re-read something. It's that awesome.
Love Neil Gaiman. He's about
Love Neil Gaiman. He's about the only fantasy writer I've ever loved, well besides J.K. Rowling.
My fave is Neverwhere. Good Omens is hilarious!!
Wow, ironically I just picked
Wow, ironically I just picked up Map of the World at the library last night. I am reading Water for Elephants...what a good book. Another good book is The Unit by Nini Lundquist (I think) -- not normally my style as it is sort of futuristic, but it is so thought provoking and what a good love story...
I read Water for Elephants
I read Water for Elephants earlier this summer and enjoyed it very much.
I read The Help this summer.

I just got done reading quite
I just got done reading quite a few books, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Not bad I felt kind of left out for not being Swedish but it's a pretty good book. The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake. I thought that was a very interesting book, I like things that give you a new perspective. I am also perpetually reading my guilty pleasure books. Charlaine Harris, I just love her.
I also just read Confessions of a Shopaholic because it was on sale for 89 cents on Kindle. It was cute, if you are in the mood for mindless reading as I like to call it. lol
Forgot to mention The Nanny
Forgot to mention The Nanny Diaries is a good book...a bit of a mindless reading but I couldn't put it down...

Wally Lamb writes books that make you think, but they can be hard to read from an emotional stand point at times. He's an excellent writer, though.
