Not looking forward to the weekend
Okay...not to be the b*tch but I really don't like this time of year. The reason is football. Harry (SS10) plays. It's not the fact that he plays football (I love the game) and its not that we have to pay for anything (we don't, BM covers the costs on extra curricular activities)...its the drive. We live 2 1/2 hours away and on our weekends with the boys we have to drive to the mid-point on Friday evening to pick them up and then on Saturday morning we have to drive the whole way to get him there by gametime and then we have to drive back. Literally all day Saturday is taken up with driving. It sucks. Saturday is usually my rest day and I won't have it for the next 6 weeks. We can start the pity party now.

Ya, well ...
How terrible would it be if you didn't go? I mean, if you missed like one or two games?
My skids play soccer and baseball. I have not been to every single game of theirs. Sometimes it's hectic doing all of the sports stuff and you know, they aren't really my kids. I support them enough and their parents are there to support them that I feel like I can get away with not going to EVERYTHING. You know? And we only live 20 minutes away from their activities. 2 and half hours and my missing games would be more the rule then the exception.
It's just a suggestion.
I tried that last year
I missed one game due to a true scheduling conflict and I haven't heard the end of it from DH. He wants us all to be there. On the plus side, its only 6 weeks.
ugh...my DH would just
have to pout and bitch at me because I WOULD NOT go. I barely attend sd11's activities and recitals. I just want to slump in my seat rather than claim that clumsy, uncoordinated blonde lump on stage watching the other girls to see what they do so she can copy them... it's torturous for someone who spent a big chunk of their life learning a dance discipline. So I don't go.

Your comments were hysterical!!!
I feel your pain!!
I have two stepsons and they botnh play football!! JV and VARSITY which means a double headache of watching them both play!! All day Saturday and at times on Sunday!
DH already has the schedule printed out and posted on the refrigerator for both of his sons!
FREAKING GREAT!!
"And this too shall pass..."
Is there anyway...
BM will consider allowing the exchange be after the games on Saturdays? My sons father lives 2 hours away and our exchanges are typically on Friday's but during baseball season sometimes we move them to after the games on Saturday...even if games are in the afternoon. My ex and I get along so im sure that has a lot to do with it.
I asked DH about that
because it makes sense to me but he doesn't want to lose his "overnights". They are so important in the CS negotiations
No way
I would not go either, I would completely enjoy the peace and quiet at home. My DH does not like the fact that I never go to any of SS12's sport activities - they are EVERY GD day. I'm not kidding that child is in every sport, it's either practice or games, I would never get anything else done. Besides he has BM and DH there, I don't think he really cares if I'm there or not.
Guess I'm the oddball... lol
I LOVE going to the activities! I'm going to be spending the entire day Saturday at SD14's volleyball tournament by myself. BM is too big of a bitch to go support her daughter and DH is on-call and can't be gone out of town (the tournament's an hour away) so I'm going... and I love it!! I don't miss anything perfectson17 does so it just kills me not to be able to attend SDs activities too, especially since they have rarely done anything.
I'd like it too if
she'd actually put some effort into it. Hundreds of dollars go into her attending a dance school and she uses it as social time. She has been dancing since she was a toddler...she's 11 and it looks like she just started dancing because she puts no effort into it. She just shows up and talks and 'hangs out'. I'd LOVE going to see her if she was actually enjoying herself...she doesn't even smile while she's dancing. It sucks.
