What's the worse thing about being married to a man with kids?

For me it would be having to deal with people (skids) in my life that I wouldnt normally have in my life. Of course I could have really awful inlaws, but with kids its different. If I dont like my MIL, SIL, FIL, etc people get that because more people are used to dealing with inlaws that they dont like. But if its KIDS then its like you are the worse person in the world.

In all seriousness... Is Mother's Day this serious?

I see way too many posts and blogs and comments about how crappy Mother's Day was.

Its a freakin Hallmark "holiday".

I think we need to lower our expectations.

Why are we so surprised when our SOs, kids and skids who are asses year around, dont pull through and spoil us on Mother's Day? Yeah we would think that they would be able to get it together for 1 day, but do they ever?

Some years we have great Mother's Days. Some years not so much.

Came across some information that OSD's 2 SDs (maybe ages 7 and 9?) will be coming to stay with them for all/part of the summer.

When OSD got pregnant with bio kid#1, her and her now DH moved out of state (7 hours away) so they could make a better life for the new baby, leaving behind the SDs with their BM.

OSD and her DH were maybe together for 6 months at this time. Maybe a little longer.

This was probably 3 years ago. In those 3 years time, OSD and her DH have come back to the skids state 2xs a year (Christmas and summer time) for a week-2 weeks time.

What are you getting YOUR mom for Mother's Day?

My mom lives out of town. I sent her a card and some lotto tickets ($26 worth) and she didnt win anything! Booooooo! She has everything (too much of everything) that she needs. She likes scratchies, so that was a good gift.

I also took a plant that we got from my Grandma's funeral (last year) and divided it up, so I can give her part of it. It grew bigger then expected, so I am very excited to give her part of it. She will be in my town end of May so I will also give her that.

If you don't like BM- Why?

I'm pretty sure the majority of us don't like BM, so why? I know there are a wide range of reasons from all of us STers.

I'll start:

I wouldnt say that I dont like BM. I guess I dont put a lot of thought into her. I'm indifferent. DH has rarely talked about her our whole relationship, so I dont have her "in my face". Plus the skids are older.

Mother's Day is coming up

And I dont fuckin care if I hear from the skids! I am not their mother! I wont be hearing from them though because I am disengaged. But I am NOT THEIR MOTHER!

Even when things were good I still got nothing from them.

I do like to send my friends who are mothers a quick text or message if I think about it. Otherwise no biggie. So I guess I wouldnt expect much more from the skids.

But the bottom line is I am not the skids MOTHER so there will be ZERO hurt feelings.

This is an anonymous site so we dont really really know the truth of what people say about themselves and their story.

There are posters who are just trolls who come on just to stir up trouble.

There are posters who will embelish a story or back track in order to go along with the masses. Or to not sound like a bad person or push over.

There are posters who flat out lie about their situation. Fake beach houses, fake relationships, fake jobs.
