Not looking forward to this weekend

SS10 is with us this weekend (he didn't end up staying in hospital long this week in the end) and I'm racking my brain trying to figure out what we're going to do with him in a small flat for two days as the weather is absolutely dreadful (lashing rain & gale force winds).

So far, I've come up with making Christmas cards, perhaps doing some baking & playing on the Wii together.

Any bright ideas out there people?

I think your ideas are great! Making Christmas cards is the best! I intend to do that, as well. If he's into drawing, try making a massive road map, a town, railroad tracks, etc. Each piece can have a little part of the town and then you can connect them all together. Or if you have a big light colored blanket and some permanent markers, then draw on that and make the 'town map' that way. You can draw the roads and then play with little cars. That's what we do with Bacon (SS5).

Good luck honey!

Great idea misfit, but unfortunately our flat is soooo small there isn't room to do a big road map.

Storm - I still find that the "old" games are some of the best ones!! Battleship... Trouble... Sorry... Actual board games can be fun!

Also, I don't know how much of a reader your SS is, but you could try to get him a book that may interest him. Lord of the Rings?

He's really not a reader - been on the first Harry Potter book for nearly 2 months!

Board games are a good idea though, perhaps we should have a creative day & a games day.

This time of year I love to find those ginger bread Christmas house kits, I do it every year with the kids and they LOVE it and I have a great time to!

Board games always rock!

Storm!! Don't forget Movie Night!! Find a scary movie or Christmas movie or whatever...

You get to make popcorn... have everybody snuggle up in their spots in the living room... and then watch a movie together!! Kills a few hours and then you can send him to bed!! Wink

If he won't read, maybe you can read to him? That sets up a good cozy and quiet time together. What are some good boys books anyone?

Gingerbread house kits are the best. Great idea Stepmomjen. I did them last week with SS5 and SS10. They had a ton of fun. They each made one and so did I. Board games are fun, cards, whatever. He needs to bring stuff to entertain himself a bit too. My skids bring game boys, DS's, books, puzzles etc.
