I have a friend who raised a disabled son like I raised a disabled daughter and this was "our song" each September! Now I still sing it when I know it's another school year of ss16 going off to school 5 days a week! Back when I first met dh and ss, dh would give ss a day at home if he got good grades or did well in school for the month, the first school day of the month. I remember being so angry one day back then b/c it was so important for me to have that day without ss and I was working night shifts and had to sleep. Now he doesn't want to take time off school b/c he is all about his friends. Anyhow, it's a very nice feeling having the kids gone to school and tired enough to sleep at night! And not hanging around BORED all summer.
