Another successful Court date without an attorney.
Just thought I'd share a Court update.
While the Judge acted in SD's interest in the hearing for temp orders at the end of June, the Judge ordered BM's attorney to draft the formal temp orders and submit them to the Court.
Of Course, as he did last year, her attny added crap that after 6 drug tests she'd get all her extended possession times and joint custody back. That was absolutly not what the judge said! She as threatening BM that she was close to never seeing SD again.
DH called BM's attny and attny said he was just going to go ahead and submit it as is and DH can just file his objections and set a hearing if he wants. What a JERK!
I'm happy to report it bit him in the A**! DH and I did just as he said, filed written objections and set a hearing. The Judge was not happy with BM's attorney.
BM's Attny tried to tell the Judge he just used a orders drafting program and just left the language in there. The Judge asked if DH had prepared Temp orders and then told BM's Attny, "Well, we're going to use his then because HE didn't just use the program."
BM's Attny had objections to what we added to our version but the Judge denied all of them.
Bm's attny even put words in the Judge's mouth, saying he asked for reduction in child support and that the judge said "Don't waste my time", the judge was very unhappy about that!
Once again, doing this without an attorney is paying off. I hope we can continue to handle this on our own, as we know from his history Bm's attny will do all he can to make this difficult and if we had an attny, he will try to run us out of money as he did last year.
I am so proud of DH, he was so wonderful up there in front of the Judge! He went toe to toe with BM's attny and won out, and Bm's attny is a former Judge himself!

Yes, A win - This is inspiration to us all.........
I am happy for you guys..... Glad to know that justice was served for once.
********She doesn't have to love me or even like me - it doesn't change a dang thing..... So get over it and move on BM!************
WOOHOO, glad things worked
WOOHOO, glad things worked out for the best.
Shells..
I'm so happy for you.
I think it's great that you are saving having to pay some lawyer to do what you're perfectly capable of doing yourself. Lawyers can make these cases take forever, trust me I just dealt with a real douche bag of a lawyer in my oldest son's cutody dispute.
A supervised visitation setting will I think really benefit your stepdaughter. Mom will have the freedom to focus on her and be required to be sober. You'll know that SD is safe.
She's got a long road ahead, let's hope she can get her crap together. She's going to have to prove it now rather than being allowed the assumption.
Big hugs, my friend.

Thanks CG!
I'm always so happy to hear from you and I'm forever thankful to you. You are an inspiration to me. I hope you know I am always checking in with you and I'm cheering you from afar.
Big Hugs to you as well.
