Changing Jobs
This time last year was a difficult period for my DH and I in regards to work. He was working on a temporary contract, all was fine, they were flexible for arrangements for SD.
I on the other hand, work in hospitality, I requested to work less evenings (I had ended up working ONLY evenings, regardless of there never being this agreement) and was told it wasnt possible.
The temporary contract came to an end and they offered a permanent contract to my DH, BUT were not able to be flexible for SD. Given my hours at the time he couldnt take the contract.
Fast forward since then and DH was able to quickly gain another job with better hours, but me? Im still working the majority of evenings and its rapidly becoming an issue.
I cant help but feel that Im getting the bad end of a deal with my employer, so, Ive decided to apply for new work and have two interviews scheduled for next week.
Keep your fingers crossed for me, my boss is going to be annoyed, if I leave now, with my notice period it will just be the start of summer (and the busiest season) BUT they keep telling me that they cant afford to loose me whilst in the same breath refusing to attempt to create at the very least, a permanent, fair working schedule.
So I never know what Im working from a week to week basis, I know the approx. hours per week but you can basically bet they will be the most inconvenient hours possible.
