FDH got the Update on the kids
After BM trashed FDH and, had to have her "life coach" on the phone with her to explain everything to her that she refused to acknowledge regarding kids being taken from her, FDH got the phone call directly from the people. See, she kept insisting to the people representing SS7 on the conference that only she knew what was really going on with SS7, it's all FDH's fault and they just need to let him and SS10 come back to her and just decide that already. She also says SS7 doesn't need to be where he is and she wants them to put him in a facility closer to her home. Also, I have no idea what a life coach is nor do I understand why she needs one to simply have a conversation. I really think she might be playing dumb, but I'm not sure...perhaps trying to get disability for herself???? Anyways. So this is what they said to FDH:
They don't have a concrete diagnosis of SS7. They do feel more than likely he does have major depression, OCD, and ADHD. No signs of Autism, or Aspergers (still, even though she's been claiming for years he has them). It's all behavioral and emotional. Nothing to do with his brain development per se, no signs of any kind of retardation either. He can function just like any other kid his age. So, these are things they are focusing on. They are focusing on his coping skills. His dfcs social worker was VERY upset to hear of the things BM had been feeding him during her phone visitations (he always calls her with his 3 weekly calls), and the almost every other day visitations she trying to have with him. She's been telling him he will get out and go home with her and he won't see dad except maybe on the weekends, etc. Dfcs social worker said she was going to make absolutely sure the visitations were limited, listened to via speaker with one of the adult leaders at the center present, even more than what was directed to the facility last week . They don't feel he needs to go anywhere else right now. Where he's at is where he needs to be right now, and for the forseeable future until the custody is decided. He is doing okay there. He's learing coping skills and such, he's learning about action/consequence and how privledges are not given for bad behavior...you know...stuff BM never enforced.
Example "out of school suspension=go home and play xbox while mommy tries to get new doctors lined up to diagnose me again so I can still be 'specialer'..."
The only thing that is of any concern about FDH getting custody of the kids is that d&*# battery charge. The TPO got dropped to BM being totally dumb AND lack of ANY evidence, but the detective who came and talked to FDH NYE before BM got the TPO was holding on to the fact that FDH wasn't able to really prove he didn't hit SS, just prove that there were allegations on her too, and that all he could give was his word, so the detective had him charged with battery. Who KNOWS when that court day will even be, we expect it to still be two months down the road. So skid county is still in cover their ass mode because of all the OTHER allegations and calls against BM that "got screened out of the system"...They don't want FDH to be a headline, I guess that means "oh we gave custody to someone and come to find out they are a child beater later on down the road". His anger eval came back with NO red flags. His psych eval came back with NO red flags, and I just found out last night the counselor at the parenting class he is VOLUNTARILY taking sent a note along with his log of attendance that FDH is quite calm, consistent, and has opinions about parenting that are reasonable.
SS10 is so sad though. He's bored, it's winter break in his district and foster mom does work so he's not doing anything terribly exciting. He misses everyone and I think he's not in as good of spirits as he was. His foster mom is upset as well with BM and she's restricted phone visitation as well as limiting the time of in person visitation.
So that's the scoop on that. I have another blog to follow up.

Be glad they caught this at
Be glad they caught this at age 7....even in the crappy way it happened.
SS should have been looked at this closely, and also the BS BM was putting into his head, at age 7. It doesn't just go away and the longer BM has to get in his head the worse it is. Believe me, inpatient placement is something we are just wishing would happen sooner.
Its scary. I'm scared of if
Its scary. I'm scared of if the outbursts dont subside. I'm scared he won't allow me to help him. Like I said FDH seems to be the only one who can get through to him but he can't be there 24/7. The facility he's at is sort of a last resort for kids who can't function at school and who don't do well with the short term inpatient therapy.
