SD came over for Father’s Day
If you’ve followed my blogs for a while, you’ll know that there has been some ongoing nonsense with BM2 allowing SD to come over to our house to be with this side of her family.
Well, it finally happened after 5 years! We had a blast. From what I understand so did SD8.
I have never ever spent a whole lot of time with her, but she was polite, talkative funny and seemed 100% fine with raising cane with BD3 (SD’s younger sister). We made cupcakes for SD’s belated birthday, I fixed BD’s hair. SD asked me to do hers the same way (I know eek-hair-female child-but it’s hot-I’m not going to tell her no)
BM2 was texting SO to see how she was doing, letting him know that she was close by if anything happened and he thanked her (disgustingly) profusely for allowing SD to come over, especially on FD.
SO was going to bring her home, but BM told him just to bring SD to the golf course. BM’s excuse was she needed to go straight to work in a town 45 minutes away (she’s a dog walker). By the time SO got to BM2 there is no way that was true because she was 1. Unfazed that she had 20 minutes to get to work 45 minutes away. In truth, I think she hated that SD was over. It’s probably pretty tough, I don’t know, so I tried to explain to SO this probably isn’t easy for her.
He came home and and told me she told SD8 “maybe” we can do this again soon. Eye roll. Whatevs BM2. I know SO was super happy with at least with what he had been allotted.
I asked BM if she would mind if I uploaded some of the pics to FB via text last night. She said it was fine. (I’ve been step mommin’ a while now, I know the triggers).
Everyrhing seemed good.
Tonighy I got a text “SD was sent home from school today throwing up. Is anyone there sick?”
Mmmmm nope, we are all fine and dandy. Apparently SD is NEVER like this, she’s NEVER sick-even though SO’s visits get canceled all the time because she has stomach issues and is in and out of specialists.
Not my first rodeo BM2. You aren’t gonna bother me too much-been here done this. *eyeroll* next time I’ll ask sO to make sure that SD isn’t sick before she comes to visit. That should shut that down.
But seriously-we obviously let her roll around in a pile of snot and then gave her a cup of influenza? I’ve been a step mom for 5 years, and a mom for almost 4. SO has been a dad x3 for 13 years, if our kids were sick we would have rescheduled. We ARE adults ya know.

I'm glad your SO got to spend time with SD! That sounds exciting for everyone! Plus since SD had fun, I'd imagine she's not the one against it Idk if your SO needed to thank her super profusely for letting him see his own kid... But I guess DH has thanked BM for being a decent human before too... Simply because she never is...
