SD's 15 and 19 both have huge school projects, one being a very complicated Mardi Gras Kings Cake, the other being a Shakesperian Sonnet Memorization, and my DH is working nights all this week, which leaves ME with these projects and I am NOT getting roped into helping them. DH totally understands, he does not expect me to just jump in and be super stepmom, but BM and both SD's DO !!!!!!! DH and I have only been married a year. BM gave up custody a few weeks before our wedding and ran off with a guy she met at a bar. I feel imposed upon in the worst way, every day, not just now. How can I cope ? Can anyone help me cope ? I purposely work late and run errands when DH works nights so I can avoid the SD's. :sick:

You shouldn't be doing anything at this age. They do their own work. Simple....you can get supplies if needed, but honestly they drive so why would you even do that? Step away from this one...You already went to school.

If the BM stays nearby, dump them on her. Let her feel what it's like to be 'dumped on' But honestly, my 11 year old understands that her projects are HER RESPONSIBILTY and only asks if she really needs help. These kids are coddled!
