So Glad To Have Found This Site

Oh, you have no idea how relieved I am to have found this site!
My SS16 moved in with DH and I about 3 months ago. Up until that time, BM had him in and out of different mental health facilities since he was 5. This kid was on everything under the freakin' sun! Haldol, Lithium, sleeping meds. He was like a little walking zombie.
We have gotten him off everything but the lithium, and started him on ADHD meds. The problem is, since he was extremely overmedicated and institutionalized all of his life, he is a 11yo in a 16yo's body.
He also has figured out that he can use this to his advantage and manipulate people into thinking he "can't" do things. Bullshit.
He "forgets" to clean up after himself, eats like a pig at a feed trough(like literally, he's 16, and doesn't know how to use a knife and fork to cut up meat!),needs "help" to clean up his room or pick up after himself. He eats everything in sight, is obsessed with food, doesn't brush his teeth or put on deodorant. He lets the dogs shit in his room and leaves it there. He is a smartass at almost all times, then he finally
I have had it!! I have been as nice as I possibly can, but this is just too much for me I think. I am a stay at home step-mom. DH works a lot, and he works from 1pm to 11pm or later. I am stuck with SS16 all the time.

Can you get him in ABA therapy at home to help? I would also look at either OT at home or at a therapy center. I am sure he has had many neuropysch evals done and that should be enough documentation to get him the help that you both deserve.
