Ok so I need some really good advice. I began dating the most incredible man two years ago. My dad has been sick, and recently within the last month past away. Anyway when I met his adult children, a woman and a young man,,they were amazing with me. I thought I WAS the luckiest woman alive. 3 children of my own still teenagers, loved them and they loved my kids. So my fiances daughter was great , saying we should marry , called me mommy,,,his son phoned me and said promise me you will look after my dad, to which I said of course. Then all hell broke loose. My fiance didn't spend as much time at his daughters house, well hello he had been single and went there every weekend before me, and even after i came in the picture we went there as much as we could. Now the daughter treats my like crap, even though I look after her dad who has very majoy health problems...and his son never really did come around . They don't like me and its a certain thing women know. Family functions , his daughter and son sit with their mother (yes the ex is still invited to everything that goes on) and I am starred at and talked about so much so that I was sick literally at the last function, and my children who are young teenagers saw it and were disgusted,,and even my fiances younger son who loves me saw it...could not believe that i was treated like that ...I am not perfect but always treated his kids with an open key policy..they could come and go when they wanted...and we used to talk on the phone all the time. I don't understand what i did wrong. I looked after my dad for two years before he died, i am a nurse, its in me to care,,because i love to care....and not one of them showed up for dads funeral...help me

I'm so sorry you've been treated badly by them. You sound like a very caring, kind person.

I have no advice, but would just remind you.....this is about THEIR issues and not yours.

Its pretty shitty they didn't go to your Dad's funeral.....I'm sorry. Hugs and hang in there.

I wish I had some advice for you but I really don't. A similar thing happened to me. My SD32 and I seemed to really hit it off and she even told me that she felt she had bonded more with me than her SF who she lived with 1/2 of her life. Anyway, she started seeing a horrible man and wanted me to accept him. I couldn't. He's a convicted drug dealer and felon who spent 20 years in prison (see my older blogs for the details). Because I told her that she deserved better that THAT pos, she cut me off completely. The only time I get to see her kids, who I love, is when she is desperate and calls my DH to babysit. We've seem them 2 times in the last several months and we live in the same town. It's very sad, but it is what it is.
