Mini-Wife Syndrome seems to be under control.
I think my game plan is working. I realized a couple days ago that we've not had anything majorly "mini-wife" in quite some time. Plus, the teacher told me yesterday that SD12's attitude & behavior at school has improved drastically since she's lived with us. It has been a huge battle and at times I didn't think our marriage was going to last.
No...I'm not naive enough to think the war is won. I fully expect this is an ongoing battle I will be fighting for the rest of the life of my marriage. But right now I am thankful for a few days of relief and peace in my home.

Becoming a Step-Grandma?
Wow... Life just keeps throwing me curve balls.
Yesterday my son sprung it on me that he has a new girlfriend and it is very serious. Then he brought her to visit. She is lovely.
The reason they haven't really told anyone is that they both have kids and they wanted to make sure things are seriously serious before they brought the kids into it.
I didn't sleep at all last night.
My two sweet beautiful granddaughters are about to have a stepmother.
AND
My son is about to become a stepfather to FOUR boys, one with special needs.

How old is too old to hunt Easter Eggs?
My stepdaughter is 12 and is as tall as I am. I have two baby granddaughters and I planned to have an Easter Egg Hunt for them at my house on Easter. SD12 is not even supposed to be here; she will be at her mom's, but my DH is asking if he should bring her home early for the hunt. Seriously, DH? You want that humongous kid to hunt eggs with my toddler/preschool granddaughters? I told him he could do something for her if he wanted to but she could not participate in the egg hunt I am planning for a 3 & 5 year old.

Seriously BM?
So I get a text from BM. Seems SD12 has been complaining that at our house she doesn't have her own box of menstrual pads.
Oh horror of all horrors, she has to share with DD20 and me {{{GASP}}}.
So BM tells me I need to go buy princess her own box of pads since that is what she's used to at BM's house.

DH Got His Balls Back!
Over the past few days, my DH seems to have cracked down on SD12, but last night took the cake.
SD12 didn't get her schoolwork done AGAIN. She smarted off to the teacher AGAIN. Of course I was the one who had to suffer the embarrassment of hearing all this at school AGAIN. I texted DH, not really expecting too much but hoping the DH I married would man up and do something about it when he got home from work. And guess what???
Princess got her butt paddled last night.

I am having a fabulous Saturday morning :-)
SD12 is with Bowel Movement...er...I mean Birth Mother hehe...
She got her phone taken away so she can't text my husband every few minutes with, "I miss you Daadddyyyy..."
I've not puked in my mouth once today.
DH has to work half the day, so I'm here alone with my own sweet DD20 who isn't out of bed yet but we have plans to go shopping later. I don't have a headache and I am not aching all over from fibro (stress-related flares). I even went on a diet

Lost my best friend :(
My husband and I have only been married going on 2 years and everybody said that even though we were complete opposites, we were perfect together. We did everything together. We hadn't (and still haven't) spent any nights apart even though he's an avid and dedicated hunter who has NEVER before let a woman come between him and the next deer. Arguments were very rare around here. To sum it up, we were the best of friends.
Then his 12 year old daughter came to live with us.

Is this too hard for the wittle princess???
Since SD12 moved in with us, she's basically laid on her ass and did nothing to contribute to the household. A few days ago my husband decided it would be her job to do the dishes. OMG, you would have thought he'd asked her to scale Mount Everest. At first she only did a few plates and cups, so I asked her to finish the dishes. She told me her daadddyyy told her she didn't have to do the pots and pans and the "big stuff." Mind you, this child is as tall and big as an adult.
