Two BMS - One Week

ICanMakeIt's picture

Sorry to double post back to back -

As a PSA when you marry a guy with two ex's with kids be warned.....life has a way of making jokes.

Not only do I get to see the OG EXWife, I get to see the Mega High Conflict one too, all in one week.

Wedding for eldest, promotion ceremony for youngest - in a 4 day spread.

Who's the luckiest StepTalker of the month? *wacko*

I feel your pain lol. The BM1 in my situation is pretty low conflict but the daughters are drama. There was a recent "acrylic nail popping" fight between the youngest SD and BM, and subsequent drama of "who's going to take (adult) SD now?" The BM2 is high-conflict and there is a still-ongoing court battle over child support, since one of the kids is 13 and she's gonna squeeze every last cent she can out of the poor kid. She is one of those "cowbirds" who doesn't take care of her kids but is always lurking around fking things up and trying to maintain control while getting paid.

ETA and yes, joyous events are a particular kind of hell for stepparents! Toxic people = toxic milestones!

That's the bird that sneaks their eggs into other birds nests and has other birds raise it and it steals all the resources and kills the step mom bird's hatchlings.

Yep. These BMs exist in nature, too. I have a friend who worked as a bird biologist. One of her jobs was eradicating cowbirds from the habitats of other bird species.

The term "cowbird" and how it is used here is one of my favorite things I read/learned on this site. I laugh (even though it's sad) every time I read.. BM here is queen cowbird so it gives me a chuckle.

pleasantly if they remain pleasant.  If they are not pleasent, bare their asses.

The outcome of the events, are on them.

Make sure your SO knows the situation and what the score will be if either of his poor choices in breeding partners steps out of line.
