X-mas went pretty well. It was our weekend but since SD12 has younger siblings with her mom, she stayed home until x-mas day then we just had her for one night and then FH's mom took her for a sleepover the next night after the usual 26th at FH's brother's house. I was much happier with the kids' reactions to their gifts this year at the family get-together. Last year SD11 at the time and her male cousin who was 10 were so rude when opening the gifts. They were very obviously unimpressed with what everyone got them and were not afraid to show it.

SD12 was over again this weekend and I actually decided to spend time with her instead of my usual burying myself in my work or other projects to avoid her. Yesterday we all went shopping together, I made dinner, and we spent some quality time talking afterwards. Everything seemed to be going really well. Then we were watching TV and the subject of sleep paralysis came up. I have read about it and have known a few people who have suffered from it, so when SD asked, I explained what I knew about it.

I was just thinking of something funny I heard a while back. SD's BM has been married for about 6/7 years and has 2 other kids with her hubby. They have SD most of the time and we get her EOW. She's usually behaved at our place, but sometimes she gives her mom a hard time. We try to all parent together so when things get bad there, they involve us and we come spend time all talking together with her to let her know her behaviour is not ok and we will continue her punishments at our place for things she does at home.

So BM's bi-polar disorder comes out the most in her Facebook posts...one day she's literally cursing the world for every little thing that goes wrong in her life, but the next she is going on and on about how much she loves her husband and kids and how lucky and thankful she is for all the great people in her life...as well as posting about every single insignificant thing that she does or that happens to her every day...well I was getting tired of having every detail of her life shoved in my face every single time I logged into FB, so I unsubscribed to her posts so they wouldn't just appea

Wow...last night was interesting. FH and I went to watch SD12 at her Martial Arts class (which was in the most sketchy, low-rent place ever with an overweight sensei that had no sense of discipline and just whined when the kids didn't listen to him - yeah that's worth $100/month) that she does with her Half-brother, so BM was there. Things are usually pretty chill between us all, but she was just extra annoying.

Finally a weekend alone with my fiance!!!

SD11 decided she didn't want to come over this weekend (this RARELY happens) because she has some sleepovers scheduled with friends and wants to spend time with them before school starts up again. We had planned to go camping with her (even though the last time we went earlier this summer it was a complete nightmare and we swore we'd never do it again, though we say that every year hahaha) since it will be the last weekend that we will be able to go for a long time due to work schedules.
