OT-NEED help URGENT - newborn kitten - please help

herewegoagain's picture

I just found a newborn kitten, no bigger than 4-5 inches long on the sidewalk. Where I live, there are animals everywhere...sigh. I am hoping I can find him a shelter or something tomorrow, as my son is highly allergic to cats. I couldn't just leave him there in the middle of the sidewalk where someone would step on him or kill him.

I put him in a box with a small towel to keep him warm. There is no place for me to go to buy anything for him at this time of the night. I keep reading I can't even feed him water at this point. Does anyone know what I can do? Please help.

the pet stores sell cat formula and small bottles. My mom used to do this when I was little and would find a stray litter.

you get the bottle ready, wrap him in a towel and give him the bottle.

I've taken care of at least 6 babies that were that small. I went to Walmart and got the baby bottle (for kittens) and the kitten formula. You need to feed it like every 4 hrs. But absolutely keep it warm.

P.S. I still have one of them....he is about 3 years old and 20 lbs. Smile

Thanks so much to all! We were keeping him warm and mama cat came to our balcony...I guess looking for him...Called the VETS and they were WORTHLESS. Everything closes here, it's a nightmare. Now we are trying to figure out if it's best to let mama cat just take him. It kills me...what a nightmare. Thank you. We're working on this.
