DH Gave up on Parenting SD but we have Full Custody
We've had full custody of SD11 for 5 yrs now. SD has major behavioral/hygiene problems. As a pre-teen and Pre-menstrual girl, this is NOT good.
We also have BD4 together. I try consistently to discuss with DH about how best to raise BD4...you know, like most parents do..."DH, I noticed BD4 is talking back lately. Should I ignore it or try to use X discipline?"

Does Anyone have a Defensive DH/DW?
Yes, I know it's all my fault--it always is...
After 5-10 yrs of step Hell life, and all the fights and all the BS dealing with skids and BMs and all the problems with second (and 3rd) marriages, does anyone else find DH/DW extremely defensive even though you are currently trying to compromise and take on all his/her baggage?

BM Disappeared
BM disappeared. DH got a letter today from CS asking him to provide any information on BM's last known address, employer, or anyone who might know her whereabouts. The CS office hasn't been able to locate her or collect a payment since the first of April.

"WE" need to figure out what to do with the kids?? Suck it, DH.
I'm going to catch all kinds of shit for this but....here it goes. DH was talking excitedly about where we will go for his big retirement honeymoon. We were both happy talking about it when he decided to say, "We just need to figure out what to do with the kids." I'm like really?? Last time I checked, I have an adult kid that DH has never had to even think twice about. The only kid we have to worry about is his stupid BM crotch dropping. Talk about ruining the moment. Again.
Felling like my house is "None of my business"
Does anyone get tired of having a skid live with you full time BUT all the issues dealing with the kid are "none of your business?" It really feels demeaning to be squeezed out of even minor decisions when those decisions impact my daily life too. I live here full time too.

I'm Glad SD Doesn't Look Like Me, Buuuuttt......
Has anyone else ever had an awkward moment when you go out to a social event and every stranger you meet wants to ask questions about the skid...then they make comments like, "SD looks more like her dad." Then they start looking an analyzing whether there's any resemblance to you, the SM. So annoying :O

DH is out of town for 2 days and SD won't shut up!
If you read my previous post of how SD11 refuses to speak when I'm in the same room with DH, this is a complete opposite scenario. Usually, when we are all in the living room eating or watching tv, SD will stare like a statue. Doesn't move a muscle or even blink an eye. When I talk, she doesn't respond, doesn't react, doesn't listen.

SD Refuses to engage in conversation if SM is in the same room
Does anyone else have a skid who refuses to discuss anything that's going on in their life when you're in the room? My SD will sit like a statue glued to the tv (no matter what is on) and doesn't react to any family discussions and doesn't respond to anything I say, even if it relates to her and school. She is such a statue that she doesn't even blink. It's actually a little creepy. Because of her behavior, I've learned to bypass her altogether and talk only to DH about school stuff--hoping that maybe some of what I say might register with SD.
If you have a choice of being a Full Timer or Sending skid to BM Full Time....
First, I already agree with any future responses that tell me my DH is a clueless piss poor parent. Now that we got that out of the way, DH and BM have a poorly defined CS order. It's supposed to be shared custody but BM has only exercised her visitation a few times. As a result, DH and I have had SD11 full time for over 6 yrs now. DH is military so we live far far from BM and she has not once tried to seek custody of any kind for over 6 years (I don't know how a mom can not even put up a small protest for custody but that's another story).
What Does the Acronym DH Stand for??
Is it Dick Head? I'm having selective memory today, just like all the other ASSHOLES in my house.
