I'm having a craptastic week, so I need to consider the good things in life...

I am thankful for:

* my Dad and SM being safe from Irma. They're headed back home, have no idea what kind of damage they'll find, but they were safe and sound, hundreds of miles away.

* prescription meds. I'm in a buttload of pain today. Can't wait to go home and take my meds to get some relief.

* my DH. This man is my rock and I love him with all my heart. I have no idea what I did to deserve him, but I am eternally grateful.

I spent the night at Moms and didn't sleep more than 20 minutes an hour so I have ZERO Patience for clients today and since I'm in the insurance industry my phone is ringing off the hook.

Thankful for

- Having my mother still with me.

- SO - doesn't care if I'm in a bad mood or not, will grab me when I walk by, plop me on his lap and not grunt when my fatty fat hurts his knees and just land kisses all over my face

I'm hanging, classyNJ!! Tomorrow after work, I'll be in comfy clothes and taking my much-needed meds that I cannot take at work!!!

I am thankful that my DH is

I am thankful that my DH is actually "on the payroll" at his new job having just been cleared.

I am thankful that while the tumor WAS cancer that the DR said that it only has a 2 or 3 percent chance of coming back.

I am thankful that our FL home was spared from hurricane damage.

Otherwise, I am a bit stressed because my DH had to leave Monday in a rush (called at 11 and had to get half way across the country by Wednesday) and he won't be home until November. boo.

WE dealt with a guy named Kevin Leisure there and he hooked us up with a remediation group that ended up being instrumental at documenting the loss and the insurance company believed them (even though we told the ins co the exact same thing). Yes, they do get paid for any remediation like the 3K that it took for them to put dehumidifiers in our home.. but in the end, we got a roof replacement and other damage covered too. You never will "make out like a bandit" when dealing with the insurance company.. but I think their help and experience got us a good deal more than we would have otherwise.

So, if they have any significant damage, it costs nothing to call them and have them come out to give you an assessment of what you might need to do.

Thank you, ESMOD!! I will let them know. Not sure what their insurance situation is and not certain if they'll make it home tonight or tomorrow (or Saturday, depending on traffic!). I'm praying it's nothing significant for them.

Me, too! They're in their 80s. Active, but still... I hope it's just some minor stuff and nothing major.

Irma's eye went just east of

Irma's eye went just east of my home; we only lost two trees (two that we wanted to pull out anyway). We had no storm surge even though our ridiculous mayor misinformed us with a ping alert, at 10 pm, when we wanted sleep, to expect 5-7 feet of storm surge any minute.

We have no electricity but have a generator and everyone is safe.

That's what I am thankful for. There's a whole other set of issues pissing me off right now including DH. But I am just going to focus on the thankful part...

I am thankful today for large

I am thankful today for large vehicles and air bags. My SIL got T-boned last night when some a$$ ran a red light, she has three fractured ribs and is being kept in the hospital for a few days, but thank god she walked away. My brother sent pictures and the front of the car is pretty much ripped off and the inside looks like a bomb hit it! It's truly terrifying to see.

Aniki I am sorry to read

Aniki I am sorry to read about your accident. VERY scary stuff. Your an example that injuries from car accidents do not just disappear even 25 years later. SO sorry.

I am thankful I had such wonderful parents. RIP Mom (not too long ago she passed away) and RIP Dad, he died years ago. They were the best of the best, generous and kind. True class acts all the way. (cant help but to think of BM and her crap family such a contrast)

Grateful for my dh and I agree on most if not all things.

Greatful for the ability to travel as much as we do.

Totally grateful for finding Step talk years ago. Whewwww, I needed to know dh and I were not alone.

Thank you, Goodluck. I am definitely proof that "unseen" injuries can be long lasting. No bone damage. No disc damage. It's aaaaall muscular. I tried physical therapy multiple times with multiple doctors. Nothing worked. I try to be very careful to avoid things that aggravate it, but that's not always possible. At least (yet!) I do not have the problem of sneezing and 'throwing out' my back like one of my former coworkers!!!

I am thankful that September

I am thankful that September is almost half over. Maybe the second half will be better. Crazy month for so many people that I know personally. Friends dealing with the hurricane , and not to miss ALL the people dealing with them. The North Korea garbage going on. A good friend just had a serious operation. My own little dance with a health scare, fingers crossed.
Green Days " Wake me up when September ends" sounds about good right now.

Part of my craptastic week is work-related. I'm praying that things don't get worse, but remain stable or even improve... :?

We survived Irma by

We survived Irma by hunkering down at a Disney resort - safest place to be in all of Florida. We were in Florida and weren't sure if Irma might turn and hit the Gulf Coast of Alabama, Mississippi or even New Orleans. Five or six days before Katrina it was projected to have landfall in Florida - not devastate MS and LA.

I even slept thru the worst of the storm as the insulation was great at our resort. Lots of tree damage, but we never lost power or even TV or internet. We even went to Epcot the next day and it was unbelievably normal.

As someone who went thru Katrina I was really impressed with the planning and shelter availability for Floridians. The worthless Louisiana governor did NOTHING but sit on her backside as Katrina was approaching (as did the mayor of New Orleans). There were no shelters, no food, no water. Certainly no transportation for those who did not have cars. Almost 2000 people died because of ZERO preparation and planning. I think most have memories of the horrid suffering that took place. And the Feds failed after the storm actually took place.

We are okay - but traveled back to our more Northern home (if you can call the Gulf Coast "northern" - but it is compared to South Florida). I don't like hurricanes, but tornadoes and earthquakes - both of which I've experience in other states - are just as bad. The horrid ice storms and electrical outages of the NE (which I've also been thru) are also horrible. I don't think anyplace is really safe.

My DS spent the hurricane at

My DS spent the hurricane at the Dolphin-Swan resort and got to see Kristen Bell sing after she was evacuated with the senior citizens she was supposed to entertain at another location. My DS' girlfriend works there and I was so glad he went to the hotel rather than stay in Tampa.

I went out for my morning walk and saw a utility truck working so hopefully we will get our power back soon.

I think every region of the US has it's own natural disasters which can be devastating.
