How do I deal with my boyfriend paying child support?

I'm so upset. My boyfriend is already struggling with earning a good living due to the economy. He has full custody of his daughter adn she lives with us. I've been helping out significantly more financially b/c I have a good job.

Recently, he found out he will have to pay over $1100/month for his 2 year old. This is the california court we are dealing with.

How do i mentally handle this? i feel like it's breaking me apart. Please help. How can I rationalize spending that kind of money forever???

He has 2 kids or just one? I ask b/c I'm not sure if he is paying for the kids he has or another that lives with their mom?

he has been married twice. first time, young age, married 10 years ish, had full custody of daughter since she was two. great father. second marriage, married for the wrong reasons had a kid for the wrong reasons and now is divorced from her, but they have a 2 year old together. ugh, what a mess.

so, i've been helping out where i can b/c i can, but am afraid that this will just get uglier and uglier. what does a year old need for $1100/month? and let's just say my boyfriend isn't making much more...

I'm assuming that he has 2 kids b/c how can he be forced to pay for a child in his custody???? At any rate, he can only be made to pay CS based on his income and if his income can not support $1100.00 per month then he will have to fight to have it reduced. More info is needed here. Hmmm....
