Why are skids so lazy

So the last two days my younger stepson, aged 19, who is over for a visit has got up at 3 and 330 in the afternoon. The older one who is home from college laid under his blanket on the couch because he was out Late the night before. I don't find it cute, I Never laid around or slept til 3 unless I was sick! Both of them staring like useless lazy buffoons staring at their laptops all day long. I ask my husband when is the 19 yr old going home and he gets all pissy whenever he wants! So let me get this straight, you stupid idiot, now that they have both aged out of CS we finally have a chance to get ahead, this will not happen if we are supporting 2 adults, and hate to break it to you Hun, they are adults not kids!

Ironic isn't it?

I often question if skids are lazy at both homes or just ours. In my case (SD's 18 & 21), I'm really thinking they're only this way in my home.

Before SD21 moved in with us, she had a reputation for being an organized neat freak....her room was ALWAYS clean and she helped around the house with chores. She get's to our home and becomes a total, helpless slob. She also sleeps until 3 or 4PM when school is out for the Summer & plays video games all day.

SD18 is an angel for BM and cleans their house. She comes to ours and she too is a total slob. By no means is it okay or do we allow it or encourage it, God knows I have had it out with them over this and even gone to the extent of posting laminated notes around my house!!!

I think it's an utter lack of respect for us and our home. A carelessness and entitlement they carry in our home.

Also agree, MorriMom. If SS thinks he's going to mooch off us as an adult, I will draw a very long, hard, deep line in the sand. I get the feeling my DH wouldn't tolerate it, either; but I would walk away before putting myself through that hell. I think he'd rather be with BM and BM's mom, and that is fine by me. That way he can continue to be waited on hand and foot.
