Yeah, I don't get it, either. I can't find any support groups either. It doesn't make sense.
I've been going to Mothers and More, but I feel soooo out of place! EVERYONE their is in their late 30s to 40s with young children (4 and under). ANd then there's me. I'm 30 (but look younger with STEPchildren that are 18,16,12, and 7.
They have nothng specific to stepmoms and I asked about starting a group and they said noone has been interested in it, but i pointed out that maybe no one other stepmoms have joined because theres nothing for them. If they had it they might come.
when i am done getting my associates degree in human services, this is what i intend to do. there are tons of other support places, just none i have found for stepparents
Can you imagine a Steptalk convention? wow, awesome, but highly unlikely, as we are from different states, even countries. Perhaps a video conference haha
I wish they did have a support group in my area. It would be cheaper than going to the shrink since most if not all of my issues that I see the shrink for are about being a stepmother.
