BM's ex (we'll call him drew) called dh and said he got a letter in the mail from the IRS, stating he owes them 600. then he says that BM 'claimed' me in 2008. how in the hell did she do this???? how can i report her and get proff that drew is telling the truth? he really has no reason to lie to us. dh says she'd have to have my ssn to file and claim me but how would she get that?????

Do you file a claim with / without your dh? At some point the IRS will figure out that your ssn was used more than once. In the mean time, I imagine you can call the IRS and let them know that you have reason to believe someone falsely used your ssn as a dependent on their return and ask that they red flag your ssn for review in 2008.
