My turn!
Congratulations to all of us who survived the holidays, well okay Thanksiving and Christmas at least. The happiest times are the crappiest ones in these blended pseudofamily messes. Holidays mean what? More time with skid around, more "negotiating" ie. obeying BM, more schedule nightmares, more time for guilty BFs to kiss skids little angel butts and spend money they don't have so the little greedy ones get a little greedier. Its buying gifts for nasty skids who don't say thank you and don't look at us or address us when we are in the room. Its "oh daddy, we love our gifts daddy, thank you daddy." It a huge, steaming pile of crap...and its the holidays, so we are supposed to be happy, and if we aren't good enough about faking happiness, then we get in trouble for that too. So we drink spiked eggnog, lots of it...and then we get fat...and so we feel even crappier.
BUT, alas, WE DID IT! We lived thru another year. Lets give ourselves some credit for merely surviving. As for me, tonight is the last day of the Christmas break that we have to keep skid! Tomorrow he is BMs problem, for 7, thats SEVEN, thats a whole week worth of time! Its my time! Its payback time! Its going on vacation for New Years time! Its seeing skids pouty face because he wasn't invited time! Its kissing my man at midnight with skid 900 miles away time! Bliss! Did I use enough exclamation points yet?!!!!!! These days I have to think in short term increments and short term victories. Day by day. I survived the holiday season, and now I am going to enjoy a week of heaven. 12.5 hours from now, its MY TURN!
