He is not in a very good place internally right now. That is for sure.
In the two days we have spent with him we do get a glimmer of him occasionally which is heartening. He works 12s tonight and tomorrow night so we will have lunch with him today and tomorrow. He has Wed and Thu off so we get him all day those days. He is not doing well in public as it triggers major anxiety for him. So we had dinner Sat night sitting in the corner of the restaurant in the bar section which was not busy. That helped. Yesterday we did a drive and found a small BBQ place for lunch which was very good and in a quiet area of that town. He just about bolted for the car after lunch.
He is dealing with a ton of issues. I'm no expert but he does seem to be struggling with strong agoraphobic issues. He engages for work which right now is his focus other than working with his medical/psych health team and caring for his neurotic cat. This cat cracks me up. She also puts a smile on my kid's face which is a God send right now.
DW and I are putting a lot of effort into making sure that we care for ourselves and each other through all of this. We cannot be our best for our son if we are not being our best for ourselves and each other.
I do foresee much libating in St. Maarten next weekend. And I am looking forward to it.
Enjoy! Thanks for the head's
