Need your help, please...what OTC things are kids snorting?
Went in my DS14 room. Opened a drawer to put something away and found a ziploc bag of about seven pills. Also saw a little box that he's had since he was little so I picked it up out of nostalgia. It had crushed pills in it.
I took it to the pharmacist and he couldn't ID it but said its not prescription.
It could be something stupid but it could be a concern. Do you know what things kids are using these days? The piles are beige with tiny light brown speckles and are round but with a beveled edge and about 1/8 of an inch "side" height. They almost look like they could be a herbal or vitamin pill.
He is at his dad's this weekend and I called his dad and sent a pic. His dad is gonna talk to him and let me know.
I'm hoping it's stupid/silly (like it was for a joke picture or something as opposed to stupid/bad) but my stomach is in knots and I feel sick. If anyone has an idea, I would appreciate any help...if it's sensitive please send a PM.

Of course I didn't take his word. He's at his dad's. I searched all the bottles of stuff at our house. They match the melatonin. He didn't buy them. And it's stupid that he's crushing them.

Vivarin was the OTC med of choice during my HS years. Particularly during finals pulling several all nighters in a row. We swore it worked better if you crushed it and snorted it or put the powder in water VS swallowing a whole pill.

They are pills my DH bought for OSS. They match exactly. We haven't confronted my DS here yet. DS is at his dads. I called his dad. His dad talked to him there. We will talk to him here.
And I am just relieved I can place the pills and it's not something I really need to take the police station or a chemist to determine the pill. I am not being nonchalant (yes, I said it already but it bears repeating). Has anybody read my post closely enough to see he wasn't home when I found them, that *I* searched all the stuff in the house to try to match them? There is no f-ing way I'd just take his word for it on this one. I will admit I left out that he did not buy the melatonin himself.
As I discussed with ExH (and he agrees), though it might "just" be melatonin now and he may "just" be trying to look cool...it's still a problem that he's even thinking to do something like this and it could be that he starts feeling nonchalant about trying other stuff.
I don't give a shit what it is, even if it's vitamin C or red hots and he burns his nose hairs by snorting it, it's not okay.
