Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

Genetic disorder causes
Genetic disorder causes tumors and learning disabilities in children
Oh, sad.
Oh, sad.
If the disability isn't
If the disability isn't something that precludes thinking and determining right from wrong (like a tumor pressing on a part of the brain or something) then I think it should be handled just like he's any other kid.
Discipline.
He needs to give the $$ back, have consequences, and possibly work for the biokid that he stole from.
Then march his little tushie down to the police station and have the officer who handles juveniles explain to him what can happen if he continues down this path.
Of course, you're going to need to have biodad on the same page. I didn't read anything about him...
The bio dad doesnt care 1
The bio dad doesnt care 1 cent about the kid doesnt do anything for him and i like your advice! He doesnt have any tumors causing any trouble
When my older son was about
When my older son was about 13, he burned a spot on a wooden bench at the Boys' and Girls' Club. Nothing big, but SO WRONG. (Got a lighter from his lovely bio-dad.)
Sooo... he had to:
1. Sand and refinish the bench
2. Write a letter of apology to the club director
3. Went to police station to find out what happens to naughty boys
4. Went to the fire station and spoke with a fire fighter about how easily fire can get out of control and shared some of the sad stories of people and pets dying.
It hasn't been an issue since.
Thanks going to do something
Thanks going to do something like that this weekend !
