DH's Missing Underwear FOUND

For almost a year, DH has been slowly 'losing' his underwear. He would constantly ask me if I had thrown it out, which I hadn't, and I was seriously thinking that he might be cheating.

The other day I needed to get something off the top shelf of my closet and went into sd16's room to get the step ladder we store in her closet. When I was returning it I noticed a zipped up hoodie with something peeking out from top of the zipper. I unzipped it and there were 5 pairs of DH's underwear.

I took a picture and texted it to him 'mystery solved'. The picture was dark and he couldn't really make out what it was. I told him and he didn't respond back.

When he got home he charged upstairs and went right into sd16's room. He must of asked me a half dozen times, 'is this exactly how you found it?'. Yes, DH...you freak of a daughter is stealing your underwear and hiding them in her room.

She knew we knew they were missing...we had mentioned it casually before in front of her, asking her to check her clean laundry to see it any were put there by mistake. She always said no.

At first he said, 'maybe she was just hanging them up for me'. IN HER CLOSET DH? SERIOUSLY? He can't deny it, but his knee-jerk reaction is to defend her. He is obviously disturbed by this. I told him not to say anything to her till she is here on Friday...then he has 10 minutes to bring it up to her or I will.

How I see this going down:

She will deny everything after staring at us with her mouth hanging open like she always does when she gets caught in her shit.
She will blame me, "fedup must have put them there and forgot"
She will blame DH, "you said I could have them ddddaaadddddyyyyyyy"
She will cry and still deny.
She will finally fess up and say she didn't know why she took them and then get mad at mostly me for embarrassing her freak ass.

DH will do one of two things:

He will have her empty her closet and under the bed to find any more treasures that may be lurking.
He will just shut down and they will both pretend it never happened.

And if she doesn't empty the closet, I will.

Deep down i didn't really think he was cheating...we were just going crazy trying to figure out what had happened to them. I knew i hadn't done anything to them and he was insisting he hadn't either. As crazy as sd16 can be it never occured to either of us that she could be involved. And no, she's not boyish at all...just deranged.

Be on your guard. This reminds me of that poor woman who married a Kennedy who already had kids. She ended up hanging herself. The "grieving" widower (the Kennedy) then revealed that his 8(?) year old had been complaining stepmother was stealing little girl things from her and Dad refused to believe it but after the suicide found the kid's things in the stepmother's drawer.

This crazy 16 yr old is going to accuse op of setting HER up, just watch. She was even probably planning to tuck them in op's belongings somewhere which is probably what happened to the poor Kennedy stepmother.
