Actual Texts between DW and SS (hard to believe)
I don’t usually go snooping into DW’s phone but I found these gems.
SS: “Can u get me a glass of water please?”
DW :”You have a sore throat. Your legs are not broken. Get your own water.”
SS: “I can’t find my deodorant”
SS: “Do U know where it is?”
DW: “No.”
SS: “But I need it.”
DW: “What do you want me to do!? I’m at work!”
SS: “Well what do I do?”
DW: “Throw baking soda under your arms.”
SS: Nver mind. Found it.”
SS: “Mom I don’t feel good. I feel like I’m going to throw up. I am not going to school.”
DW: “I decide if you are going to school or not. Go to school.”
SS: “But I’m sick!”
DW: “Then I’m coming home to take you to see the doctor. If I find out you are lying and just slept in again, you are in serious trouble.”
SS: “Fine. I’ll go to school.”
SS: “What’s for supper?”
DW: “Food.”
SS: “Mom I’m serious.”
DW: “So am I. This is a serious text.”
SS: “Mom, can you come outside and get BS. He is not listening to me.”
DW: “Just send him inside.”
SS: “I don’t know where he is.”
DW: “What do you mean you don’t know where he is!?!? I ASKED YOU TO WATCH HIM!!!”
SS: “He’s in the backyard I think.”
DW: “I see him. I want both you and BS to come inside.”
SS: “Why me?”
DW: “Because you are not listening to me!”
I must admit. I am extremely proud of DW for responding like that.

I'm surprised that she responds like that. She's stopped giving him praise for being tall? }:)
Boy I'll say. Next time I see
Boy I'll say. Next time I see DW getting soft, I am going to pick up her phone and say "The woman that answers SS's texts wouldn't say/do that!"
hahahaha OMG I needed that
hahahaha OMG I needed that laugh! "Throw baking soda under your arms" that was classic!
I am still laughing.
I was just gonna say, that
I was just gonna say, that sounds like a good Mommy to me!
Reminds me of my texts to my two teens as well.
Raising teens is like struggling with a REALLY big 2 year old that's tired and hungry.
WOOHOO! Good for her! See?
WOOHOO! Good for her! See? She CAN be a good parent!!
SS: “What’s for supper?” DW:
SS: “What’s for supper?”
DW: “Food."
this has been a conversation word per word between me and the SDs.
LOL.
Perfect!
There's a bit of backstory to
There's a bit of backstory to this. Whenever SS would ask "What's for supper"....It didn't matter what you answered, SS will retort with "I don't like that!". So whenever he would ask me "What's for supper" I would say "Camel's tongue with anchovies sprinkled with goat piss". It got to the point where SS never asks me what's for supper anymore....only DW (and most of the times even she doesn't know because I do most of the cooking). So now DW is taking my lead in answering nonesense to SS.
lol, we got the "I don't like
lol, we got the "I don't like that" once too.
DH followed it up with "good, then don't eat"
LMAO
To both your comments: Yes,
To both your comments: Yes, and yes. Been there, done that. SDs know not to ask any more. Don't care that you don't like it or won't even try it (it's NORMAL food people!)...
SS: “What’s for supper?” DW:
SS: “What’s for supper?”
DW: “Food."
HAHA this was actually conversation between MY mother and I back in my teenager years lol I was a super picky eater and so whenever I would ask what was for supper, mom would say "food" I'd say "what kind of food?" She'd say "The kind you put in your mouth and eat." I'd get pissy and tell her to stop. She'd say "There is no point in telling you what we are eating because you will just stick your nose up at it and I'm not going to listen to it."
.... and now I have BS5.. who sticks his nose up at EVERYTHING! Why must the Karma bus always find ME? :?
Lol! Those were awesome!
Lol! Those were awesome!
Props to your DW! Looks like
Props to your DW! Looks like she's getting on board after all. Good to see!
This child seriously annoys
This child seriously annoys me. I see he'll be as useless as the "g" in lasagna when he becomes an adult...
as useless as the "g" in
as useless as the "g" in lasagna
.. now THAT is a good one that I am going to stash in my cap for later use!
And the ironic thing is, SS
And the ironic thing is, SS doesn't like lasagna.
Of course not!
Of course not!
A layered Nutella lasagna?
A layered Nutella lasagna? Hmmm....
Can we please not go there?
Can we please not go there? My brain still hates my eyes for seeing that Nutella ice cream (Icky Cram) dispenser!
I like Steak 'N Shake, but my
I like Steak 'N Shake, but my arteries can only withstand eating there once a year.
Sound like she WILL parent if
Sound like she WILL parent if you're not involved. If you get involved in any way, shape or form, she goes into defense mode! Just like the typical NCP bio-dad--that's why disengagement is sooooo important!!
SS is very angry that she's parenting and it's just a manipulative attempt to make her go back to Mama Junesque.
bravo, dw! well done. i
bravo, dw! well done.
i wonder if maybe she expresses herself better and more assuredly in written word? (i know i'm definitely like that)
