Tiny Victories
My SD has awards day at school today and it was one of those things that everyone goes to even if they don't ever go to any school function ever they show up for awards day. She looked so pretty!!! She was in this beautiful dress and her hair was clean and fixed GAHHH anyways I went with my children but my husband had to work. My MIL showed up and she treats my husband (her son) and me like crap but being that wonderful Christian woman that I am I waved hello. She saw me...I know she saw me. However, she acted like she didn't see me and she sat far away all my her self. I had to get up to get something and I asked her where her husband was and she said he couldn't make it so I told her that we were sitting right up there if she didn't want to sit by herself. She was hesitant but she eventually moved up to where we were sitting. I made sure to let my children know that was their grandmother and they were her grandchildren. I told them they could sit on her row or on my row. Then her phone started going over and she turned way to the side as if she was hiding who she was texting so I said "oh is that your husband" and she hesitated and was like uhhh no it umm its someone else. I knew who it was it w as BM they are complete BFFs. Next thing I know BM shows up dressed very wholesome. I was impressed. She stood their awkwardly and my MIL was so torn. She even stood up at one point like she was going to leave me, her DIL and her two grandchildren to go sit with this woman. I casually asked "are you moving?" and she was like umm no I just umm I uhhh. Eventually BM came up to sit with her and they talked all giddy the whole time about all kinds of different stuff. I didn't really pay much attention. MIL put BM stuff in her purse so that BM wouldn't have to hurt her little hands holding it haha. One time MIL started holding my youngest daughter and I could see BM world shatter. She just kept staring at MIL holding MY daughter and couldn't focus on anything else. MIL hardly said 2 words to me the whole time I was there. Then BM's parents showed up and I was like hey I think that is your mom and dad. She completely ignored that I said anything so I looked at my sister and said Hey DH's ex wife's parents are here lets move up so that there is room for them. I heard BM trying to "justify" why they were here to MIL. Sayings things like I swear I didn't know they were coming haha almost like she was cheating on MIL or something. So weird. I was nice the whole time. Later at the celebrating BM was asking me all these questions about pick ups and drop offs and I replied to her "that's a question for you to ask DH" I never saw her so mad!!! Though, because we were in public she wouldn't dare show it.
I must say I survived the whole day very well. A tiny victory for an evil step mother.

Hehe... modernly wicked
Hehe... modernly wicked stepmothering at its finest
After all, poison apples are so passe'. Modernly wicked stepmothers have to be smarter and wittier than ever before. (I think I feel a book coming on lol.)
Good job. I thoroughly enjoyed your post.
