O/T Carpal Tunnel Surgery

Bio-Step-Mom's picture

Anyone undergone surgery? Resuls?? Were you a "severe" case?

Have to consider it. Only know 2 people that did it, neither were especially happy with the results.

Oh, my surgery was almost 30 years ago and it was a disaster. I'm a physical therapist and the patients I see with "carpal tunnel" usually have other things going on up the arm to the neck, etc; it's just the wrist and hand that makes the most noise. Given the advances now in neurological approaches, there are better ways to handle this, in most cases. Good luck!

I had it done a few years ago. It was definitely worth it. I experienced numbness in my fingers for years. I would have to stop typing and hang my hand down to get circulation back. Figured I could live with that and did for about 4 years. Then I started having pain and I couldn't even cut my meat. Had the surgery and haven't had a problem since. Definitely went well for me. I know other co-workers who have had it done also and they thought it was well worth it.
