SD19 Moved... and somehow that means DH gets a new grill??
Moving day itself went good.
Friday we went over and scoped out the house. It is only a 2 bedroom, so the girls are sharing the larger room and my son is in the smaller room.
The house was clean “enough”. The important stuff was taken care of such as the fridge was clean and stocked, dishes were done and put away, bathroom clean even the grout and tile in the shower. The floors were clean and vacuumed. It is college kids that live there so I guess I can’t be too picky lol. Ceiling fans need to be dusted, I am sure the appliances had not been pulled out and cleaned under since I last did it, we are not going to discuss what the windows looked like. But it was “clean”. The deficient areas, I dealt with on Friday.
It took 2 trips on Saturday to move SD19 in there, one for furniture another for clothing. She and my DD have already figured out who gets what part of the closet. They do not have the same taste in clothing nor do they wear the same size so at least they won’t be stealing each other’s clothes.
So we finish moving Ms. almost-independent out. Get home expecting to grab a beer and relax. Our expectations did not go as planned. Skid2 (the 18 year old) then hit us up with the fact the girls originally got the larger of the two rooms, leaving he and skid4 a little cramped. So much to skid3’s disgust, we swapped rooms in the house too.
There is one of her, two boys so yes they get the bigger room. She bitched and complained for HOURS. DH literally told her four times to shut up, she didn’t until he yelled loud enough the walls shook. It did not take long to move HER out of the bigger room; most of her crap is still packed up in boxes due to the last time she pissed her dad off. She hasn’t bothered earning it back so it’s still in the garage.
What took the longest was moving the boys across the hall. And they both died a thousand deaths when I yanked up a mattress to move it… and found the hidden stash of playboys. OMG I have never seen two boys go absolutely PURPLE from embarrassment before. Guess they figured me or their dad was going to kill them… instead DH confiscated them and the boys about died again with his comment of “Jeez soft core crap… at their age I was all about the Hustler”.
Yeah, DH gave them the magazines back… apparently it’s supposed to be a ‘secret’ between Dad and the boys but he told me anyway. His reasoning, and I agree with it, is he would rather them be eyeballing some soft core playboy… than virus-ing our computer by going online and getting an education they really don’t need.
And the older three called us last night apparently next weekend they want us (DH and the 3 youngest) to come over for dinner that they are making. But um… can you bring the grill, and what’s the recipe for your mac-n-cheese casserole. DH initially griped about the grill, then decided he was GIVING his grill to them… because apparently that means he can get a new one??? Man logic… I don’t get it!!
