Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

How awful! There's a a lot
How awful! There's a a lot that this article leaves out, such as forensic evidence, etc.
However, chances are that the skid did it and his defense team is using the 45-minute window as an escape hatch.
So frightening. MY DH hunts and we do have guns in the house. While SS6 doesn't have access to them, who knows what he might try to do as he gets older.
Such a tragic story.
I think about this alot..
My SS is 11 as well, has access to guns as he hunts with his father. IMHO, SS11 has sociopathic tendencies, which is why I don't leave my DD's alone with him. He's the type to 'try' something just bc he can bc there were no adults around. We butt heads ALOT, mainly bc I'm stricter with the internet and gaming and his dad has guilty father syndrome. My DD11 knows how to stand up for herself and defend her and her little sister (8yo), but she can't against a gun obviously. He throws tantrums and I truly think if he doesn't turn into a narcissistic prick, he will be in prison, or BOTH. He's headed down a dark path and because of DH and my in-laws, there's nothing I can do to stop it, I can only protect my own children and teach them a different path.
