SD's visit with DH

SD, age 17, had a meltdown where DH had to call the police.  She was admitted to the mental ward of the hospital for a week or so.   For a little over a month, she refused to speak to DH until last weekend. 

She was going to an open house at a local college and requested to have DH pick her up afterwards.  SD told DH that BM said DH was going to pay for college.  DH had to tell SD that it wasn't true.  

The CO was so full of crap that BM forgot to include college.  BM was so worried that DH would have a life that she had an entire page of the CO informing DH that he couldn't have any females that he was romanitcally involved in around SD unless they were married.   When we started dating, a lawyer friend of mine read the CO.  He told DH that he should have NEVER signed the crazy thing.  DH didn't know anything about child custody and didn't want to deal with court just agreed with BM .  He didn't think BM would screw him over.  BM did and she did it royally.

 

DH 1 and BM 50000000000000000000.  I love this win for DH.   I am not sure if SD is really going to any college but he doesn't have to stress about college tuition.

BM here didn't put anything in the CO about college either, because she assumed SS would go to the college she works at for free. Of course, he was a crap student, so he couldn't get in.  She took it to court and DH was forced to help pay for community college even though SS hadn't spoken to him in 3 years.

He dropped out of community college after one year, so at least DH is off the hook for that. But your BM can also likely get that added now.

is either too distracted with her battled with her BD and her custody issues  or she doesn't think SD will ever go to college.  SD is very smart but with her bipolar she may not be able to get a degree of any kind.  SD hasn't had a semester in school where she hasn't been suspended for fighting, cursing a teacher or something similar

My DHs original agreement stated he would pay CS and tuition until Spawn was 24.  Legally in CA CS stops at 18 and graduated high school.  I couldn't believe he agreed to that and he admitted he never read his CO just signed it because Meth Mouth told him he had to or she was getting a lawyer...they did their own divorce sans lawyers.

thankfully when we got custody that CO went out the window and Meth Mouth never got custody back, but damn!  We might have been on the hook for CS and college until Spawn was 24.

God I wish we could have, but not here GUBM rules.  DH was admonished not to seek CS from poor helpless Meth Mouth who couldn't work due to her drug use..eye roll!

I love a win for DH!! Is college why SD magically showed up again?

BM here made sure to include college. However, the one slick move our lawyer put in was "UP TO 50%" of college.

Our lawyer said that we could pay for a class or to 2 locally near us at a community college to see if it was worth it to SS to get college paid for at all. If we did that we would have done our part, if SS refused HE would have to be the one to sue DH and the wording is so loose that he feels that we would win. SS would have already refused the payment and that isn't our problem. It never said the college of SS's choice, therefore it falls to the benefit of the payer- DH.

BM here had no trouble overturning everything she wanted to in terms of the divorce order. They might as well be written on cocktail napkins for what they are worth.

She wanted to make nice so DH would pay.  I really don't see her staying in college past 1 semester if she even goes.

The CO/"MOU" was SOOOO lopsided during "mediation" that even the mediator for the GIRHIPPO advised Chef not to sign it without an attorney.  Of course Chef did to "get it all over and done with" (TM) and got sodomized sideways with a twelve foot pole.

I could have SWORN there was an entry in there about college but thank GOD there is not (not that the ferals could even pass GRADE school never mind college)
