Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

Yeah pretty sure he is on the wagon about the tooth fairy not being real now, but he is still trying to sneak stuffed animals to school so who knows LOL! :jawdrop:

Hrm... it stopped coming to me when I had no more teeth to lose. Even though we didn't believe in the tooth fairy for a while, my parents and grandparents still took it as a good time to give us a dollar for it, just because it was fun for them.
But they didn't put it under our pillows or anything, just gave it to us and we thanked them.

I am pretty sure that the "tooth fairy" still came until I didn't have any teeth to lose. I don't think I stuck them under my pillow, just on my dresser toward the end after I knew there wasn't any such thing. But I am a grown woman who still gets an easter basket from my mom too... its just a silly thing that makes kids smile even when they know it is the parents doing it. Its just $1. I would play along as long as she will let you. Pretty soon she will be too cool to let you do the silly things. I plan on riding these traditions out as long as I can.
I think we have SD a dollar
I think we have SD a dollar or a couple dollars. MIL told DH the tooth fairy up here was cheap. I thought it was plenty. I think one time she got $10 (from with BM, BM's mom, or MIL) and I told her the tooth fairy must be rich.
We give SD6 our loose change!
We give SD6 our loose change! She has no concept of dollar amounts. She got a $50 bill from her granparents for Christmas and she thought it was $1 dollar! HAHA! She just loves to have some pennies to put in her play purses. We always gave the older one who's 11 now quaters no more than a dollar. I remember getting very crisp dollar bills when I was little no more than 2 a tooth. Also we never growing up got $$ from the tooth fairy if there was a filling in that tooth or if the dentist pulled it out.
i'd almost be willing to pull
i'd almost be willing to pull permanant teeth if it would bring him to my bed at night!
