New here.
hello you wonderful stepmothers. I am new here, and this is my very first post. I am beginning to think that life is not fair at all.
I am a 33 years old male, with a B.A. I am currently an elementary teacher.
My problem is, women never give me the time of day. I think I am decent-looking and well educated with a regular job. I have tried talking to them when I see them at the supermarket and at the coffeeshops, etc. But, they never want to get to know me.
On the other hand, when someone is a jerk the woman glues to him like glue. She bends over and breaks her back for him.
Here I am, just one of those regular guy, cannot seem to find a date. I am clueless. I can't help but think do I need to be a jerk to get a girl?

I can empathize with you,
I can empathize with you, however, I think you need to find a forum devoted to dating/singles. Not a Step Family forum.
Ya think?

Thanks every one so much for
Thanks every one so much for the support and the great advice. And thank you Echo. I commend your friend for teaching Special Education. I think people like your friends are a great asset to us classroom teacher and thus they are doing a great public service for the children.

This is not the place for you...Go to Match.com. I found my husband online and there is no shame in it...Although I do wish when he said he had no baggage he would have been truthful...
Seriously not the place for you.
I was thinking the same.

Now THAT'S funny....

Dude! Really? Cruising a StepFamily site for chicks? :jawdrop:
How about some confidence and judgement. You seem to be lacking a bit in both.
Now for some constructive advice on how to meet amazing women from a dude who also happens to be a StepDad and husband.
First, look for a ring on the right hand ring finger. Ring = Move on. You will find that the overwhelming majority of women on a StepParent site have the ring or are in a commited relationship. Look for more appropriate turf.
Now for some advice on appropriate environments for available ladies.
Try going back to grad school and dating a classmate ...... or asking out a student teacher or single ladies who work at your work place.
Try a singles group at Church or join the symphony or an art museum/gallery.
Join a foodie group or a wine tasting group.
Join a travel club.
Join a regular bridge or poker game at a retirement home. All of those retirees have daughters, grand daughters and great grand daughters who they would love to introduce to a nice friendly young man with a job/profession who spends time with them.
Moonlight as a bar tender. I know many teachers who moonlight and have met their SOs through their moonlighting job.
If you are interested in being a SParent join Big Brothers. Those boys have moms and they very well may be pretty amazing women. I married a Single Mom and my life became far more than it was before I met her and her/our son.
I met my XW at work. Admittedly a bad choice of mates on my part since she failed to take the "open for all cummers" sign off of her vagina after the wedding but that job was a great social connection and I dated a bunch of very nice, dynamic and interesting women before and after my first marriage at that job. That was when I owned and managed restaurants. The hospitality/restaurant industry is a good place to meet young people who are in school.
I met my wife of 17+ years in college when I went back to finish my engineering degree. I was about your age when we married and we have had a pretty terrific life together so far.
Whatever you do, quit looking for a woman. Invest in being the ECO-FINA you like being. That investment and journey will draw amazing people in to your life and one of them may just be THE one.
Relax, enjoy yourself and who you are and the ladies will enjoy your too.
Good luck.
