I am so happy to have found this site. All of the feelings and thoughts I have kept bottled up I can finally share! It is a relief to find other Step Parents that can relate to my situation and will not judge me. Thank you!

Haha, some will judge...just ignore! Smile As much as we spill our guts on this site, there's no possible way to include 100% of the facts or information...so nobody should be judging. Just offering help and support! Welcome to the site!! Smile

I just joined too and I swear the weight of the world has left my shoulders! I feel so ... free here! Just a place to put things into perspective for me and it has been great. Not to mention I thought I was the only person on the planet who had a little bitterness! Smile

MY SD WAS TOLD BY BOTH HER MOTHER AND FATHER THAT AS LONG AS SHE KEPT HER GRADES UP, GOT A JOB, AND SAVED MONEY THAT SHE COULD GET HER DRIVING PERMIT......SHE KEPT HER END OF THE DEAL AND NOW MOMMY DEAREST SAYS NO TO THE PERMIT AND MY HUSBAND AND I FEEL THAT IS JUST WRONG....WE WOULD JUST GO TAKE HER BUT THE PROBLEM IS THAT WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A CUSTODY TO GET SD FULLTIME...WHAT TO DO????

her father has every right to take her to get her permit, that wont interfere with a custody issue. If she worked hard and earned it per part of a deal then an adult should hold up their word! Bio-Mommy will have a mess on her hands no matter where she lives if she makes the child bust her tail for nothing over and over again! ... and custody wont be a huge deal for long, at 14 any good judge will ask the child what they want!
