OH THE MEDICAL BILLS.......
We received 3 medical bills today from BM2. Ok, we owe half of $5.00 and another half of $5.00. And half of $24.80 for SD4.
No problem....
Thing is on the one bill it states a balance of $100.00 and shows where BM pd the $24.80. Ok. She never stated that the $100.00 was for herself or for SD. Just said here are the bills and that is it. So, we would assume that we reimburse half of the $24.80 and the $100.00. NOPE! Dr. Office said SD's charges were covered by insurance other than the $24.80 and that the $100.00 was the balance due for BM.
DH takes it as she is being deceptive, of course because she does lie about everything. And I mean everything! Nothing comes out of her mouth that isn't a lie. So, DH emails her just to clarify how much he owes. Guess what she said..... He owes half of the $100.00 balance. So now he has let her know that we called the Dr. Office and that insurance has paid the $100.00 and that only owe have half of the $24.80. THE NERVE OF SOME BM'S! It will be some stupid emo'ish comment back being she was caught in a LIE once again.

WOW! I guess she figured he
WOW! I guess she figured he would not check. I hate it when some BM's take advantage of the situation. Ours was doing the same thing.... until DH verified information with the insurance company. We didn't and still don't get receipts - but now DH doesn't pay anything unless he gets the recepit like the court order states.
********She doesn't have to love me or even like me - it doesn't change a dang thing..... So get over it and move on BM!************
We don't pay anything unless
We don't pay anything unless we have the EOB (Explaination of Benefits) or the actual script and pharmacy receipt with the child's name on it. How is she submitting the bills to you that they do not delineate who they are for?
BM took SD to her eye doctor
BM took SD to her eye doctor so both of their names are listed on the receipt. Just so happens the bill does not state previous charges for BM which was what the $100.00 was for, it just list a balance of $100.00 due.
I wouldn't accept that. I
I wouldn't accept that. I would insist on an individual receipt and explanation of benefits for the child only. Jeez, if I was the bm, I certainly wouldn't want you getting my medical information and what I am going to the doctor for. She must be an idiot.
You hit the nail on the head
You hit the nail on the head with that one!
Our BM did this, too: sent
Our BM did this, too: sent DH a bill for almost $3,000 worth of dental stuff. He called the office, and it turned out some of the work was for BM.
About a year and a half ago, DH told BM he would no longer take her word on the amount of "extra" expenses she wanted reimbursed for the girls -- he would need receipts. Well, she refused for months, till she finally realized he would not give her ANY money unless she gave him the receipts. So she submitted receipts for 3 months. And guess what? We were able to determine that fully 1/3 of the money she was requesting was either reimbursement for stuff she'd bought for HERSELF, or for stuff that was supposed to be covered by basic support.
Lying sack of crap...

We have learned our lesson
We have learned our lesson in the past with BM1 so we call and verify EVERYTHING now.
When DH called BM2 out on
When DH called BM2 out on it, she wanted to know who we spoke with. Yea right! Like she didn't already know that the charge was for herself and that insurance covered all of SD's charges other than the $24.80. Needless to say BM hasn't responded again, not to say that she didn't realize, nothing. Because she knew all along and is always trying to get MORE MONEY! NOT GONNA HAPPEN!
When we receive doctors'
When we receive doctors' bills, it clearly states the PATIENT'S name on the bill. They usually will give 2 separate bills for 2 different patients, regardless of the BM/SD relationship. If she's doing this, I would make damn sure to check with the doctor or dentist each and every time she sends a bill for reimbursement. She's got some nerve.
