The things kids say...
Before we start these are 2 conversations we had with the kids this weekend. I noticed a HUGE change in their behavior this weekend. They were backtalking something horrible, SD7 hit FMIL and was put into time out for 45 minutes because she would NOT stop backtalking while in timeout - she kicked a hole through the wall! SD5 was whining the whole weekend and kept crying over everything! It was crazy! They have been amazing the last couple of months. Since their Grandmother came home last month we've noticed things going downhill. We know that BM has been dumping them off with her mother for weeks now...that's what she does.
So they've been taking rollerskating lessons and they love it. They are so proud of their roller skates. Well apparently they missed their lesson Friday evening and were really upset. When I asked FSD7 why they missed it she said,
"Because mommy is fighting with our coach's wife and she cried all night and all week and told us we couldn't go anymore."
WHY? Why should they be punished because she is a drama queen? They love skating! They get to interact with other kids - NOT JUST THEIR FREAKING COUSINS! It has really built up their confidence. They've been so happy! They are meeting new friends and now look! She has taken something else away...Ugh...I hope next weekend is better.
Quotes from the kids this weekend...
Me: Okay it's time for bed. Let's go get your teeth brushed and try to pee. I'll get your stuffed animals and then off to bed!
:tucks the girls in with FH:
FSD5: "My name" how come you never lay with us anymore?
Me: Well, you are big girls now and if you can fall asleep alone at Mommy's house, you can go to bed alone here too ; )
FSD5: But Mommy does sleep with my sister (fsd's share a bedroom). She sleeps with FSD7 all the time!
Me: (keep in mind Dad is standing in room with us) Why does she do that? You are big girls.
FSD5: Mommy sleeps with sissy when she cries, when she and her BF argue because Mommy goes out too much...
US: Okay girls! Night Love you!
This is ridiculous - the BM and this is the not 1st time we've heard about this - like the 50th time! She constantly involves these little girls in her "drama." She is supposed to show them she is strong, responsible, and mature - someone to look up to. Instead - WTF? Sometimes, the phone rings and she will ask to talk to FSD7 and she will sound like she is crying! You'll hear FSD7 say, "It's okay mommy, don't cry -everything will be better. Yes, I will be your best friend now..." WTTTFFFFFF.

the BM needs to be a grown
the BM needs to be a grown up!!! like dumping on kids come on!! really immature when you put your needs over the needs of your children, how are they supposed to feel stable when their mother isin't!!!??
It is so sad when this
It is so sad when this happens to kids. When they have to comfort and take care of thier parents when they are still so young themselves. My SS and SD have had to be the ones to call for help when they have seen their stepdad beat BM and were scared he would kill her. My SD and SS were kept home from school to take care of thier mom after she had a hysterectomy instead of having her husband be there for her.
