BM thought she should reward the skid's naughty behavior by buying them pet rats?

SteppingUp's picture

First, it's just hilarious. The skids are 3 and 5 and there's no way in heck that they'll be cleaning the cage. Sure, they might "help" but BM will end up doing the work. Also, BM is a CLEAN FREAK and will probably have a heart attack every time the rats poop in their cage.

Second, it shows BM's total lack of parenting logic. In the same breath that she told DF that the kids were naughty ALL WEEKEND and outlined the things they did (and when DF asked her what their punishments were for said naughtiness she had no response), she then told him that she bought them pet rats on Saturday. I can only imagine what that conversation was like: "Kids, should I reward your bad behavior by getting you some new pets?"

I can just picture her trying to pawn them off on our household in the next couple of months, once she realizes that SHE'S the one that has to put in the time/effort for these pets...or that it didn't magically change the kid's behaviors.

Ohhh the idiocy.

FLEAS! OMG

I am the biggest animal lover on the planet (and tree hugger) but fleas carry many infectious and contagious diseases.

LMAO

BM buys skids some kind of new animal every 6 months or so. It's been a regular thing ever since I've known FH. Just last night, they got hamsters. I wouldn't have any nasty ass hamsters in MY house. Those things STINK! I'm not a big fan of animals that shit in boxes (hence why SD's cat that she just HAD to have and FH bought without telling me "disappeared" during our move .. what a shame). We bought SD a fish tank for Christmas, but that's only because I wanted it for myself. ROFL

LOL at all of your comments!!

I really don't mind rats (but would honestly rather something furrier like a bunny, if you're going to put in the effort of something that goes to the "poops and pees in a box")...I just think it's hilarious that BM got them. It was a total shocker to us!

There's NO WAY we'll let them have the rats at our house. Me and DF would not allow that whatsoever!

I have quite the active and healthy cat for you who is the "prize" hunter around here, if you like. He favors "rats." :O You know, those lovely little things that spread the Bubonic Plague throughout Europe?

SD6 came over and announced that "mummy" had QUARANTINED dogs in her backyard for the local animal shelter. That was a large vocabulary word for a 5year old to make up on her own, don't you think? :O
